@avimancer

Have any of you seen Loving Vincent? It's hands-down my FAVORITE hand-animated film, primarily because every frame is hand-painted in oils by professional painters, working in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. It's just so well done and AAAAAAAAAAH

@TheLavenderOwl It is great! Just watching the trailers makes my mouth water at the gorgeous animation

@TheLavenderOwl It takes place after the death of Vincent Van Gogh, and the main character asks other people why they think Vincent died and what he was like.

@TheLavenderOwl
Some swearing
Some Blood
Mentions of suicide and death
smoking and alcohol

@TheLavenderOwl Just curious, but why did you want to know?

Does anyone find a piece of original art, and you look at it and it has an element like something you're trying to achieve, and you save it for reference and pray that no one will think you trying to copy it and pass it off as your own?

That's how I am with the art style in the webcomic Siren's Lament

I have a character named Abel who wears a mask and cape. Coincidentally, there's a similar-looking character from Pokemon called the Masked Man. I just learned to accept the fact that they loosely resembled each other and moved on

Yeah, one of my original species, the Kallyxi, looked a bit too much like the Na'vi from Avatar until I added a few things :P (AND IT DOESN'T HELP THAT THE KALLYXI HOME PLANET IS ALSO BIOLUMINESCENT :(

My OC Asura looks and acts quite a bit like Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments/Shadowhunters. I had to change a lot.

Another one of my characters, Lily, also happens to loosely resemble Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim. It doesn't help that their names are similar already, not to mention their hair looks similar, both dye their hair…
But you know what?! I don't care! I'm perfectly fine living knowing that I have several characters, some of which resemble other characters! It's called inspiration, not plagiarism for goodness' sake!
