"Yes." Bains whispered. Then, reaching into his bag, he pulled out a long and sharp knife. "Ready when you are."
Sam drew her bow and arrows. "I'll take the first two out and you can get in and get the others and I'll do others. Sam took two quick shots at the guards and the other guards looked behind and saw them. "Go, it's your chance!" She said while preparing her next shots.
Bains dropped out of the shaft right onto one of them, slicing his throat, before leaping onto the next one and doing the same. But the second man knew what he was doing and before the knife got close enough, he threw Bains to the floor and drew his gun. However, before he could shoot, Bains tripped him and stabbed him in the heart.
Sam took the next three guards out and then there were three left. She had two last arrow tips and decided to save it for the inside. She took out her small dagger and jumped out of the shaft. She quickly took one's arm and twisted it behind their back before snapping her neck. She then walked up to the last one and punched it's underarm to stun them before making their knees buckle. She then pinched a certain nerve in their neck to cause them to fall asleep before taking off their uniform and changing into it in a small closet.
Bains grabbed a uniform off one of the guards that wasn't bleeding out, and slid it on over his clothes.
Sam walked to Bains to let him know that they should start moving quickly before someone found them. "We have to keep moving, come one." She gestured while moving inside the building.
Bains followed her, pulling the soldiers goggles over his eyes.
They got to the door where the weapons would be inside, and Sam looked at her clipboard for the pin to the door. "Put in 22746 and then press enter twice. We should be inside so we can get some weapons and we also have to destroy some so it won't work when they use it on us."
Nodding, he put in the code and opened the door. It was like weapon heaven in there, and he grabbed a cross bow and some other important items. Then he put small vials of poisons in his bag, and waited for Sam to take her fill before lighting the place up.
Sam dumped the rest of the vials in her bag as they could be useful to them in the future. She also grabbed bullets for a small pistol and three more bombs that were labeled radioactive. She took out her dagger and cut the wires to the other bombs to dissasemble them. She then removed the bullets from all the guns and lit them on fire in one corner when Bains did the same and took one more bomb and threw it in the weaponry to destroy the whole place. They had one minute before it would go off so they had to be quick. She shut the door and grabbed Bains. "We have to destroy the place quickly and the fires will make sure it melts. We have one minute to escape before it destroys everything in a mile's distance."
"Alright c'mon!" He yelled, and then he bolted in the direction of the nearest door. It lead out into what once would've been an area of woods, but burnt skeletal trees stood in their places. He ran out and around to Wylen and Harper, signing, and yelling, "We gotta go!"
Oh no, what did they do? He thought, but he didn't ask out loud. If someone told him to run, he would. Wylen followed Bains to wherever he was running to.
Sam hurried down in between trees and branches, hearing the crunch that each one made. One particular patch that she stepped on didn't have the satisfying crunch noise so she almost went back to make it happen before remembering that they were running for their lives. She looked back quickly and saw the fire that Bains had set getting larger and the bomb hadn't even went off yet. She heard commotion from guards, probably about the dead ones and the weaponry. They had no clue of the bomb being set and only thought it was a small fire. Sam felt bad for a split second, until she realized they were all planning to kill the kids, so she didn't spare them even a second glance.
They were getting far from the base and Sam ran into another abandoned camp and motioned Bains, Harper, and Wylen inside. They would still be able to hear the bomb go off but none of the debris would hit them where they were.
Harper breathed heavily once they reached the abandoned camp. A bunch of dust had built up in her lungs and she began coughing, even though she had pulled on her dust mask when the bombs went off. She was fine, she just worried about the others. "You guys did great back there. Are you okay?"
Bains was breathing heavy, and he slid down agains the wall. "Yep." he breathed. "I'm good."
"Did you just set off bombs?" Wylen asked, for once glad that he didn't have to speak to communicate. His breaths were short and he kept gasping for air.
"Yeah. We killed a few guys, stole some stuff, and then blew everything up."
Sam put her hands on her knees and panted heavily. She took off herr bag and sat of the floor, still catching her breath. "Here, I got you each some medicine and bandages."
Bains gratefully took the medicine and applied bandages to several cuts on his arms. "So, what now?" he asked, pulling out the vials and some other weapons from his bag.
"I'm not sure, let's just relax since they can't hurt us now. If they come back, then we will figure out another plan I guess."
"How do we know they won't try to wipe out the sick and injured too? This whole place could be valuable battleground. How can we stop them from doing that? We would need more help."
Sam's thoughts of final relaxation were immediately discarded after she remembered the sick and injured. "We would definitely need more people, without a doubt. I guess we borrow our plan and do the same over and over at their bases, destroy their weapons so they can't do anything to us. Then just get the people the care they need."
"We should go out soon, look for survivors of the bombs and such." Bains suggested.
"Let's wait a couple of minutes, I'm still catching my breath and we need to re-energize."
He nodded silently before he stood, and he began to stretch out his tight limbs.
