"That's what they always say," Aza said, pressing harder with the knife.
"That's what they always say," Aza said, pressing harder with the knife.
"P-Please, stop! We all have the same goal, right? To get out? I-If we kill each other, we'll just be helping them!" Mar was on the verge of tears again. This was all too much for her.
Felix laughed. He wasn’t scared of this lunatic. It wasn’t the first time he was threathened like this. ”I’m not telling you anything. If I say it’s better off unspoken, that means it is, chica. God, you’re not very good at understanding what people mean, are you?”
"I understand. Just differently than you," she said shyly and stepped away. "I'm sorry."
Felix looked at her with a crooked smile, a bit impressed. He had thought that she would keep on trying to fight him, but aparently she wasn’t that childish. Felix liked that. Getting out of here would be much easier if he didn’t have to be threathened all the time. ”Great,” he said. ”Now that we are done here, I’m gonna leave.”
"I gotta leave too. The scientists haven't noticed that I left. Yet." Aza went off to the left, down a dark corridor. She set her hand on fire to light her way.
Mar clung to her bag of supplies. She didn't want to go along, but both of them looked as if they would kill her if she tried to follow them.
(*alone. She didn't want to go alone)
After putting a nice clean hole through the car lock, Elizia tried and failed three times to hotwire the thing. Anger coursed through her (and energy), and she punched the dash with an overcharged fist. The car thrummed and started.
Hmmm. Works for me.
Felix saw another boy standing a bit away from them. He glanced at him, made sure the other boy knew he had noticed him, before heading out the door. This time no one stopped him, and he walked outside. The girl that left was still out there, and she seemed to have just gotten her car running.
Elizia ran back to the group, noting that everyone seemed to be more or less getting along. She whistled loudly getting everyone's attention.
"I've got a car outside. Anyone who wants to come can, provided you keep peace. I'll be kickin' ya'll out once we get to Augustton, so figure it out from there. That should give you about an hour and a half of road to think about it." Elizia shot a glare at the girl with a dagger, "Are you coming?"
Mar lept, partially in fright.
"I-I'll come!"
"Was I talking to you?" Elizia snapped, "Go get in the car and wait. I hear so much as a squeak from those wheels and you can kiss your ass goodbye."
Mar hurried to the car, wondering if it was the right decision. She sat curled up in the seat farthest from the driver's.
"Anyone else who wants to can," Elizia looked back towards the girl she'd orignally prompted, "Dagger girl, if you come, keep that knife by your side. I want you in the passenger seat."
Jae had seen the boy glance at him and knew he had seen him. He turned walked down the hall, assuming there was no one left when a girl burst back in and yelled something about a car. He froze and look behind him, debating whether to stay where he was or to run.
Aza put the dagger back into her belt, shrugging. She walked after Elizia and said, "My name is Azalane."
"Elizia Arazael." she responded, "Sorry for trying to rob you, but I figured I was one of three sane people here and didn't want to take my chances." They turned and started walking towards the car, when Elizia remembered the whole encounter and did a double take. "So why do you need an eye? You have both of yours, and they seem to work alright."
"Science, if you will. I'm not planning to gen-mod anybody. Tryn'a reverse it if you know what I mean."
Felix saw how the other boy started to leave. He quickly made a decision. Stay with the girls or follow the boy? He felt like none of the girls was a threath for the moment, but the boy? No idea. He didn’t want a potentiall murderer running around, especially not since he had obviously seen them all. Plus… the guy could be a mutated as well.
”Augustton, you said?” He looked at the girls. ”You know what, I’ll find a way to catch up with you along the road. I’ll find some kind of vehicle or whatever. There is… something I need to do first.” He didn’t want to tell them about the boy. The girl who waited in the car seemed pretty scared already, and he wanted to find out what the guy was up to before telling the others.
"You do that," Aza said and climbed into the car.
”Yeah. Umm… bye. Good luck.” Felix stood uncomfortably by the side of the car, not sure what to do.
Jae eventually turned to walk in the other direction to look for another exit. He had no way of knowing whether the other people were safe and he would rather not find out the hard way.
"Give up," Elizia responded, "You're wasting your time. There is no way to reverse it."
With one last look behind her, she slid into the car, which was still running. The wires hung at her feet, there was no key in the ignition. And yet it was going.
"Alright, everyone. Let's get going."
"I refuse to give up," Aza retorted and put the vial in her belt, and stared out the window.
