Hello there fellow role players, before we start let me give you an introduction.
The Soul Labyrinth is a complicated system of distorted places, filled with the spirits of the dead which include every being, not just humans. Portals that connect the labyrinth to the rest of the universe open to those who’ve lost someone dear to them. Within the labyrinth, the living is able to take the dead back to life by taking them to the portals. Meaning, this is the place where you can find deceased family members, lovers, brothers and sisters in arms and bring them back to life. Sounds fairly easy…right?
Well…the labyrinth is home to a species known as “Phantoms”. Information about them will be scattered around the labyrinth, the only thing you need to know about them now is that…they won’t allow you to escape that easily. Though, it is not impossible to negotiate with them…there are consequences if the negotiation fails. You might end up being the next one in line to wander in The Soul Labyrinth.
Though, as the story go on, secrets of the Labyrinth will slowly be revealed.
(A character template is not needed [though recommended], BUT if your character is not so humanoid, please explain how they look like. Another thing, Magic abilities are 100% allowed and is expected in here, just don’t be too overpowered)
–Name: Galahad Wiergils
–Race: Human (Animus-user)
–Age: 27
–Physical Appearance: Just under 6' tall, dark-brown hair always maintained in a short buzzcut, chestnut eyes, medium build with some muscle due to his travels, short but dextrous fingers, a scar from right temple to right eye.
–Souls He Wishes to Save: His younger brother and sister, Lance and Percy. Died during the Great Wyvern War when their encampment was overrun by human forces.
–Powers and Magic: Animus-user, meaning that he can enchant objects to do whatever he wants. The commands options are endless, but he can't enchant anything too large or small (micro). Enchantments can last for as long as he wants, but it takes energy to activate them. If he uses too much, he'll either faint, slip into a coma, or straight-up die.
–Weapons and Items: Always keeps his enchanted knitting needles on him, along with a crochet hook and a sewing kit (was a tailor before the war). Has an enchanted pistol named Grimoire, every time he spins the chamber a different effect is applied when he pulls the trigger. Effectively has infinite ammunition, but he has no idea what will happen when he fires. Effects last for 3 minutes.
Galahad had managed to slip away from the fortress for a few days, only leaving a note behind that said he would be back before they had to move out again. That was two weeks away, and he had already spent 4 of those traveling to find the Soul Labyrinth. He still blamed Yamatsukami for the deaths of his siblings, the fool had led the humans to their camp. It didn't matter whether it was an accident or not, he kicked both him and his family out of the rebellion out of rage. He would only ever even think about forgiving him if he could get Percy and Lance back, which is why he decided to venture into the fabled Soul Labyrinth. Many had tried before him, no one ever made it out alive. DId it work? He hadn't a fuckin' clue. The only thing that mattered was seeing his family alive and well. They were the only ones he really trusted and relied upon when they were excommunicated from the city of Mordaria, and he wasn't going to let some half-breed upstart lead his forces to their deaths like he did his siblings.
(This is just to give hints to one specific person about some of the stronger Phantoms)
Two figures stepped out of a portal located in the center hall of the labyrinth, returning from a trip to another dimension. “What took you two so damn long?!” One of the figures standing asked them with a furious voice. “Hey, hey, chill down a little why won’t ya?” Another one asked.
Galahad chose not to waste any time in getting to the end of this Labyrinth. He took out his crochet hook and spoke: "This crochet hook will guide me to the center of the Soul Labyrinth, floating a few feet in front of me at all times." There was a ringing noise like that of a handbell accompanied by a blue flash that emanated from the hook. The Animus-user stumbled, clutching his stomach as if he was just punched. He spent a few seconds catching his breath, and when he stood upright the crochet hook was floating at chest-level a few feet in front of him. He always felt satisfied whenever a spell worked in his favor, as it took a while to finally understand how important the wording is when using Animus. One time, many years ago, he had enchanted a feather duster to take care of all of the dust in his house. Seemingly harmless, until that feather duster nearly attacked a coal miner that had recently come in looking for a suit for his coworker's wedding. He was very lucky that he was able to lock it in a closet and that it only ever led with the soft end. Any knocking would have ruined him, for certain.
Galahad began to make his way through the Labyrinth, navigating its winding and similar-looking corridors with the use of his newfound compass.
The entrance to the labyrinth was the easiest part of the course, even though it did require some sense of navigation. The labyrinth itself is divided into 8 different regions, based on how the soul you’re trying to find died. The regions are as listed down below…
1) Murder
2) Accident
3) Disease
4) War
5) Age
6) Suicide
7) Sacrifice
8) Betrayal
All the regions are shaped differently but it’s practically impossible to tell which one is which since there are no signs. Souls of the deceased wander around the region they’re assigned to. All the souls that live in each region have masks which hide their identity, each region a different mask, removing them will reveal who they are. You can communicate with the souls first to see if they’re truly the one you’re looking for. But remember this…removing a mask of a stranger will result in their soul being consumed by the Labyrinth Master. Meaning, if you pick the wrong fellow, you’re killing them in the process. More information will be coming when more people are in the labyrinth itself.
