Liz raised a brow at his response but nodded. ”Alright.” she told him. ”Just, if you can help it, don't do that again. I was worried.”
Liz raised a brow at his response but nodded. ”Alright.” she told him. ”Just, if you can help it, don't do that again. I was worried.”
"Sure…" James mumbled as they reached the command deck and went to the logistics side.
"What is happening down there?" He asked.
"The battle is still going on in our favour, all is good for now." Came the swift reply.
Liz stood off to the side as James approached the command station. She wasn't a high enough rank to ask questions or make suggestions or strategies. Just follow them. She stood at attention, clenching her fists at her sides. I should still be down there… I’m a soldier… she sighed a little and looked back at James.
As James dealed with the logistics, he looked back and sighed.
"Go, your duty lies in the battlefield and as much as I wish you not to leave, you must go…"
Liz looked at him in slight surprise. Was she really that obvious? She knew better than to question a superior officer, especially in this setting… But she didn't really want to leave him alone… Even though he wasn't alone right now. Really, what’s the worst that could happen to him? ”Yes, sir.” she nodded. ”Thank you.” she told him before heading out of the room.
"Liz… Stay safe.." James sighed and said before working with the logistics.
Liz smiled faintly and nodded. ”I will… James.” she promised as the door closed between them. She headed to the armory to grab a couple of guns, if there were any left. At first, it was a pretty calm walk for a while but soon she was sprinting to her destination. Do I still have his magic? Am I still copying him? she couldn't help but wonder, thinking about how that ability could aid her and the other soldiers on the field.
(Ill give a few hints when your fighting but Ill try and let you mostly discover it yourself. Just to let things be more fun, atleast I hope…)
In the armoury, there was a kinetic powered assault rifle meant to be the future's example of an AK-47, of course ot was many, many times more powerful. Along side it, there was some class-B body armour, pretty good, in the middle of the… Price and quality tag, it was black and blue and was quite fitting. It had seen better days though as quite a few dents covered its exterior. There was also a pistol from the famous company that created the Glock series. This handgun was called the Glock-257 and was energy powered. Alongside was some DB-37 Grenades, normal grade.
[Armor Durability, 200/300]
(I hope so too)
Liz quickly put on the armor, and grabbed the rifle as well as the pistol. She hesitated before grabbing a couple of the grenades. With the ship stranded and communication practically nonexistent, they couldn't just go back and resupply the ammo. Every shot needed to count. What they had was all they had. But she would rather be safe than sorry and if she got closer to the front of the line the grenades would be helpful.
Finally armed, she ran back to the fight, ready to protect the ship and everyone on it.
The invaders had seemingly been pushed back, though not without the unfortunate deaths of some friendlies. Dragon roars sounded above as the smell of burning flesh covered the battlefield.
Nearby, a soldier was about to be overcome by what seemed like a Minotaur with a giant hammar.
•••••••
Strings are quite good at holding people in one place, and can be quick when used correctly, it can also be used as quite a good counter attack weapon, did you know?
Liz registered the unusual appearance of some of the enemies but didn't allow herself the time to react to them. She quickly shot the Minotaur so it would move if not fall backwards away from the solider. Looking up at the Dragon, she decided to try for James’s magic. She kept her eyes trained on the winged beast and reached for that cold emptiness she felt before. She pictured those black strands forming a large net and ensnaring the Dragon and causing it to fall.
A large black net appeared from nothing and covered the dragon, causing it to crash onto the ground. Killing a few other invaders, the dragon roared in pain as the chilling cold cut through its scales and was slowly getting absorbed into the void, literally.
Somewhere, an arrow was shot, blazing brightly as it hit Liz. And with that vanguard came a whole barrage of arrows.
[Armor Durability: 190]
Liz smirked a little as the magic responded the way she wanted as her eyes turned dark. She did scream in pain as the arrow pierced her but she needed to keep focusing on the magic. She still needed it… She couldn't let go yet. As she saw the arrows heading for her and her allies, she reached out again and pictured a barrier or large shield preventing the arrows from hitting anyone else.
For some strange reason, the arrows seemed to have pierced through the shield, murdering dozens of lives.
In amidst the enemies, a cloaked giant shrouded in darkness was holding a staff, seemingly chanting.
Liz growled in annoyance that her shield didn't work against the arrows. She would mourn the dead later even though it did hurt to see so many fall when she could have… maybe should have been able to save. She looked up at the giant in surprise. How the heck am I supposed to deal with THAT? She wasn't sure how much more magic she could use or how to use it against the massive being.
That was when a strange earthquake seemed to commence as black gas seeped from the fissures.
Insert dark music.
A man walked from the ship, he had turned, his aura bloodthirsty and eyes red, black and blue. It was James. And he was in obvious pain.
Distractions are good for any battles, it gives the ability to surprise attack of flank an opponent.
(my boy reached level 2! (And this is why mimic has its flaw, it can never be as strong on one single power.))
(I don't know whether I should be concerned for him or congratulate you on the power-up. (Makes sense.))
Instinctively, Liz covered her mouth at the sight of the back mist, not wanting to breathe it in. She looked around at the troops to see how they handled the earthquake when she saw James. ”Oh, God.” she murmured before quickly making her way over to him. ”James! What are you doing out here?” He was supposed to stay inside!
It seemed James had maintained some sense of self-control and the soldiers weren't affected as much. He looked at Liz sharply and did not speak.
Liz’s dark eyes stared back at him. ”Are you alright?” she asked seeing his pain. ”What happened? I thought you were going to stay in the command center.”
"Why stay there when such fun will commence here?" He grinned as two fangs appeared, his pupils' becoming slits.
She glared a little, not so much out of anger but concern. ”Look, I don't know exactly what you went through but this isn't fun.” she said pointing at the arrow stuck in her armor. ”I don't want you to get hurt and I can't focus on just making sure you’re alright when we have to find a way to deal with that.” she gestured towards the giant.
"Ah f*ck that Liz, I have feelings towards you so thanks for being concerned but that, seems weak enough." James shook his head in pain as he glanced at the giant.
"I'll deal with him, you go and help the soldiers."
