( @Emi-Has-No-Ideas could you please reply?)
(I'm sorry! I've been really busy. I'll respond soon!)
(It's alright, I just wanted to make sure you knew because it'd been five days)
(I know I'm sorry, my Marking period in school must ended so it's been high-end at my school for me. I'll respond tonight.)
(OMDOCNEWNRN I'M SORRY IF YOU THOUGHT I WAS BEING PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE I REALLY WASN'T TRYING TO BE I'M SORRY)
(Nononononit's ok I understand!! It's been a while and I'm holding it up.)
Annie hadn't noticed it was her turn to go until there were a few starters left on the table. The small water type, who she had been staring at for a bit, lowered its Pokeball in expectancy as the tall girl stepped forward. She gazed down at the final starter, smiling gently and sticking out her hand for it. Every Pokemon had a different way of greeting, and it was quite entertaining for Annie to read and discover.
Totodile hopped forward closer to her, looked at her hand up and down and carefully bit into her soft skin. It didn't hurt despite its sharp, jagged teeth. It was like a small dog biting down slowly.
"Er… is that a sign that you chose me?" She asked it softly, lifting it up carefully in one arm, careful to grab the Pokeball it abandoned.
(There weren't any other Pokemon but I guess it makes sense so screw it I'll do that. Also sorry I couldn't reply, I've been super busy. I have a hockey clinic way upstate this weekend so I don't know when I'll be able to reply next)
Cyndaquil had climbed up Anna's arm and now rested on her shoulder. It was fairly light, and Anna kind of liked having it up there. She didn't quite know why, but she did. Professor Elm began talking, and Anna turned her attention to him, careful not to accidentally drop her new friend. "Remember to care for your Pokemon frequently," he said, "It can not only strengthen your bond with them, but keeps the Pokemon happy and healthy and can even help them grow stronger themselves."
(I was gonna change it but it didn't let me rip)
(It's fine lol)
(bumpity bump?)
Caesar let Chikorita jump into his arms, and he held it close to him, stroking its head.
"Is that all, Professor Elm? Anything else we should know before we get started?"
He paused for a few seconds, looking around the room, which was trashed.
"And… would you like some help cleaning this up while we're here?"
"Yes, that's all," Professor Elm replied. "And though I'd appreciate it, you don't have to. If you'd rather head off, then don't let me stop you."
"Don't worry about it! If we all pitch in, things will go a lot quicker, right, guys?" Not waiting for a response, she bounced over to the toppled shelf. Anna looked over to Annie, realized that nobody had given their names out yet. "Oh, and we never really introduced ourselves to each other! I'm Annabell, but call me Anna."
"I have plenty of time to help you out."
Caesar walked over to one of the shelves and started to push it upright.
"I'm Caesar," he said over his shoulder, more to Anna than anyone else.
Chikorita watched him fix the shelf, all wide-eyed and slightly concerned.
"I can help." Zozzie said, grabbing a broom and beginning to sweep up some broken glass. "I'm Zozzie and this is Author." They introduced, pointing to the Zoura that was sitting next to Litten.
(It's just the one shelf/bookcase that was knocked over, btw. I worded that badly, didn't I? Sorry)
The bookcase went upright with the help of Anna and Ceasar, wobbling a little when it landed. Anna's eyes went wide for a second, and she grabbed for one of the shelves. It didn't fall over, thankfully. "Phew," she breathed, then set to picking up the books. "That's a cool name," she said to Zozzie without looking up. Not that she was trying to be rude, she was just trying to gather all the books and binders that had fallen off the shelf. "Both of them, I mean. Author and Zozzie." Cyndaquil picked up a particularly heavy volume and managed to totter a few steps before almost falling over. "Whoa!" Anna exclaimed, reaching out and catching the Fire type. The book fell to the ground with a thump and Cyndaquil squealed in surprise. "You okay?" she asked, knowing that her partner would likely be unhurt but a little surprised. It nodded. "Alright. Be careful, though, these books are huge." The two went back to work, Cyndaquil sticking to the lighter books. "Oh, hey, that reminds me," Anna said, "I should probably give you a name, huh?" She thought for a moment, looking at Cyndaquil. "Umm…how about…Cinnamon? What do you think?" she asked. Cinnamon looked at her, then blazed its back up.
"Cyndaquil!" it exclaimed, smiling.
( @RedTheBestBitch and @The-Moral-Ambiguity-of-Metaphors can you have your characters introduce themselves real quick? Sorry, I know I'm probably pestering you and you're probably bored with everything moving slowly, but I promise it'll pick up.)
(It's fine my guy. I've introduced Simon to the group that met outside but he's just been idle after getting Bulbasaur. I'll see what I can do with him.)
(I'm not sure what to do with Annie but I guess I could figure something out…)
(I mean if you want to skip, then we can do that too…)
(I'm gonna assume that you guys want to skip because I haven't gotten any replies, soooo)
After a little while, things were looking a lot better. As Anna started putting books on yet another shelf, the door opened. A boy a little older than her walked through it. He had pale skin and gray eyes that scanned the lab almost professionally, as if he had come here to get something done and was damn sure going to do it. The boy wore his crimson hair in a low ponytail, though towards the front it hung free. His clothes were clearly intended to be showy, but the navy blue suit jacket, white dress shirt, undone red tie, and navy blue slacks somehow seemed casual. Of course, Anna recognized him.
Who didn't know who Silver, the Champion, was?
Followed by a Feraligatr and Crobat, Silver approached Professor Elm–who was checking a bookcase towards the back of the lab to see what was missing–ignoring the new Trainers. "Professor," he said with a somewhat curt nod. Elm turned around.
"Hello, Silver. I was starting to get worried. You got my message, then?" he asked. Silver nodded.
"Yes, I did. I would have gotten here sooner, but…something popped up." The Champion's expression darkened a little.
Professor Elm's eyes widened. "A lead?"
Silver nodded. "A hiker found his hat and jacket in a cave near Mt. Silver. The hat was extremely dirty and the jacket was in shreds. There were also signs of a Pokemon battle, and even blood stains."
The Professor was pale now. "And did they find a–?"
Silver cut him off. "Body? No. All of his Pokemon were recovered, though. I stopped by his mom's house and gave them to her. Professor…" he took a deep breath, as if to steady himself. "Wherever Gold is, whatever happened to him…I think the situation is a lot more dire than we had first thought. Crystal, too."
Anna didn't know what to think. She'd heard about the disappearance of Gold and Crystal some months ago, but nobody had been able to find anything to track them down until now. She looked around to see how the others were reacting to this and couldn't help but feel that all of them were intruding on something.
Zozzie tilted their head, owlish eyes blinking in the direction of the new people. They didn't understand why Anna was looking at them so strangely, they were just people. It was clear that Zozzie didn't know much about any famous people.
(Silver: Hey you know Gold? Ex-Champion? Missing for months now? Yeah some guy found his hat, torn up jacket, and Pokemon in a cave
Silver: Also he might be dead but we don't know. Nobody's found a body
Anna: shooketh
Zozzie: Huh nope nothing unusual other than Anna being surprised/scared
Idk I just thought their reaction was funny)
(Lol, I suppose so. They're basically immune to feeling anything bad when a stranger says someone has died. Plus, they don't know who these people are.)
(Fair enough XD)
