Elias quickly walked away to get away from Winter. He walked into the cockpit. "Where we at Essar? In the middle of nowhere? Nobody around… Nothing to see…"
Elias quickly walked away to get away from Winter. He walked into the cockpit. "Where we at Essar? In the middle of nowhere? Nobody around… Nothing to see…"
Hi-5 decided to try and make an effort to be friendly. "What are you doing?" She asked Shiloh.
"Yeah, I know. But the ship's telling me there an Imperial base around here." Essar said.
"Nothing," Shiloh answered. "Just… thinking a little."
5 nodded. "Thinking is good. What kind of things are you thinking about?"
Shiloh swallowed. "My family…"
"What were they like?" 5 asked, not knowing the borders between friendly getting-to-know-you chatting and downright interrogation.
(G'night.)
"They were wonderful. My… My sister especially," Shiloh answered, choking on her words. "She was amazing."
Winter was thinking. Not that I wonder type of thinking, but the If I could change that, would it change this type of thinking. She rested her head on the door. There were too many thoughts running through her head. She needed to get away from her thoughts. She needed to listen to something. Anything. She walked into the cockpit.
"Essar, why are we on the edge of this asteroid field? Is everything ok? Do I need to do something? Can I help?" Winter said, slurring her words. Elias walked over to Winter. "Slow down, your brain is racing at light speed. Just sit down and listen. Don't ask any questions. Just listen…" He wrapped his arms around her. He ruffled her hair, and released her from his hug. Winter sighed. "Yeah, I just need to listen. So, what's going on Essar? And, why are we here?" She sat down on the floor, and waited for Essar to respond.
"Weeeeeeell. Hold up a sec." He leaned out the door. "Hey 5, did you fix the navi-computer?" Hi-5 answered. "Yes I did Essar." "Huh, okay." He sat back down. "The scanners are saying that there's an imperial outpost here." He said.
Winter stared up at Essar, unblinking. "Literally, that's the most normal thing that I have heard all day. Please elaborate, Essar." Elias just stared down at Winter, and then he looked back up at Essar. "An imperial outpost here? In an asteroid field? What on Hoth are they doing this deep in space? They couldn't be mining, could they? What's of value in an asteroid? AND, have they found us yet?"
"No, they haven't found us yet, and there's no record of an imperial base out here. Could be that the asteroids have a metal ore in them or something, but I'm not sure." Essar folded his arms. "By the looks of it, it could be a mine and/or refinery. I'm just not sure why something like this wouldn't be listed officially."
Winter was on the floor listening. Her mouth spoke before her brain thought it through. "They could be stealing people. That could prevent them from making it official. Seems like something the Empire would do…"
"Yeah. Maybe. Should we investigate ya think?"
(I gtg ttyl)
Elias looked over at Winter. "Maybe we should. But, who knows. It could be abandoned for all we know. Winter's idea of people that were stolen, or enslaved, could be just an idea." Winter rolled her eyes. "Come on Elias, if there are people down there, don't you think that they are waiting for someone to rescue them? Yes, it could be abandoned, but wouldn't it be worth it just to find out?" Winter looked up at Elias with big eyes, "Please, Elias? Just a look?" Elias sighed. "Fine, I can't ignore you when you're like that. Plus, I want to get on your good side… Let's go check it out Essar."
(kk, bye!)
(I'm back! You still on?)
(Yes.)
Essar nodded and piloted the ship forward. "Looks like they might've mined out that big one right there and put the facility in there."
(We need Camie)
(Yup)
Elias nodded. “I think you’re right Essar. But, why hide the facility in an asteroid? What is really going on over there? Must be pretty serious to the Empire to keep it hidden…”
"Hmm. Let's see where we can hide the ship and investigate. It looks like there might be a thin atmosphere down there, so we'll only need a breathing apparatus."
