"We've sent some agents out already. They'll be there soon. How many does it look to be?"
"We've sent some agents out already. They'll be there soon. How many does it look to be?"
Stephanie looked at the room really quickly and shrugged. “Er. . .I’m not sure. Not much, but at the same time it looks like quite a lot.”
"Okay. We need you to get here immediately. You're more needed here than there at the moment. We can send someone to get you if you need it."
“No need to send someone to get me. I’ll be there before you can say Great Britain,” Stephanie responded as she closed the door. She ended her call and stood up straight. She stretched her middle finger along with her index finger and thumb out and drew a circle in the air, big enough for her to go through. She stepped through it, and in moments she was in the same room as Hill and the rest.
Blythe was the first to spot Stephanie. She got a smirk on her face. "Since when did you learn the Mystic Arts? Didn't realise that was something you could do. What are you? Dr Strange's daughter?"
“Since forever, dear Blythe. I’ve first learnt it when I was hm, nine? No, that doesn’t seem right. I was a bit younger than nine,” Stephanie said with a bored look. She stiffened and slightly started to panic when Blythe mentioned Doctor Strange, but she quickly regained her composure. “Doctor Who?” She chuckled at her own joke. “Oh, the sorcerer supreme. Don’t be ridiculous Blythe. If I was his daughter, wouldn’t I have his surname?”
"Not necessarily. I don't have Papa's last name. I mean…they were dumb to forget to hyphenate it," She looked at both Steve and Tony with a knowing look. "But I still only legally have Dad's last name. So you could definitely still be his kid without having his last name."
Stephanie shook her head and bit her lip. “If I was his kid, I would’ve known. Besides, I h-had parents. I saw them being murdered in front of me.” She said in a quavering voice. She looked down at the floor and fumbled with the sleeves of her dress.
Blythe stared at Stephanie with a sympathetic yet vaguely questioning look on her face. She'd known about Stephanie's past but now she wasn't so sure. She knew for a fact that there were other universes, she'd been to one on an off trip with Strange himself.
Stephanie looked up as she continued to fumble with the sleeve of her dress. She noticed the questioning look on Blythe’s face, causing her to cock her head to the side. “What?” Stephanie asked in a low voice.
"No, nothing. Just thinking." Could…could Stephanie be from another universe? Is that why she said that S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't have a file on that person? They had files on the smallest, just starting mob bosses.
Stephanie stared at Blythe, as if trying to deduce her, but then shrugged. “Well, are you going to explain why I had to come here, or are you going to keep looking into space?” Stephanie asked with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Oh, I don't know why you're here. You were talking to Hill, not me. I'm just as clueless as you. I just get in and get the job done."
Stephanie turned to Maria Hill and crossed her arms. “So, Ms. Hill, care to explain why I had to leave? I take it, it has to be something important? Or did you not want me to help your agents get them?”
"You were more needed here. You see, we had you three on that mission for two reasons. The main one was really to get as many of these guys into custody as possible. The other…is a lot more serious."
Stephanie nodded slowly and perked up when she mentioned that the second was a lot more serious. She blinked and tilted her head to the right side. “More serious? How so?”
"It's come to our attention that there is an alternate version of our world. We are what the Sorcerers call 'Earth-19999', and we have discovered 'Earth-1999999'. This wouldn't be a problem: we've known there were alternate universes for a while. But this Earth-1999999 is so extremely similar to ours, with the only difference being Blythe and Peter's powers. And a little timeline difference, they're about 20 years ahead of us. The thing is…there's no Stephanie. Everyone else is the same, except Stephanie."
"You don't exist," A voice said, one that sounded like a slightly older Blythe, but not her.
(i kinda wanna bring like some freaky lore into this and see what will happen and idk i hope it doesnt kill the rp fingers crossed)
Stephanie eye’s widened as big as saucers. In her mind, she was testing all the possible answers she could say and their outcomes. She finally shook her head and tried to say something, but nothing came out of her mouth. The only thing she did was opened it and closed it.
“What? No, that’s impossible. If I exist here, wouldn’t I exist in Earth-1999999? What if. . .the other Stephanie died? What if the other Stephanie is under the radar, that no one knows about her?” She groaned. “Is this some sick joke? It is, isn’t it? Please tell me it is.” Stephanie pleaded.
"Trust me, if you existed, I would know." The owner of the voice came out of the shadows.
"What the fuck? But you're…me," Blythe said, her voice riddled with disbelief.
"Technically, you are me. Since I'm older."
"How old are you?"
"48."
"Whoa, OK. I aged well though."
"Sure, whatever. I must clarify that I our futures, or my past really, are different. I'm not Stark Rogers anymore. In actuality, I am Stark Barnes-Rogers."
The other Blythe turned to look at Tony. "And god is it painful to see you, Papa."
Stephanie blinked, trying to get all the information into her head. One word. One word was all it took for Stephanie to leave her trying-to-understand-everything state. It was one word that 48 year old Blythe had said. “Wait, Stark Barnes-Rogers?” Stephanie asked the other Blythe, extremely confused.
"Papa died 19 years ago and Dad and Bucky got married. He's mine and Morgan's step-dad. Morgan is my little sister."
"I died?"
"I don't want to reveal too much. It's bound to happen in a few months. So yeah, it's really painful to see you. Especially since you look the same as before the whole thing happened. It's hard to explain, so I want. But I would not mind seeing Aunt Nat. I never got to say goodbye to her. But that's not the point of me being here. God, this is so strange. Seeing Papa, knowing Aunt Nat is alive, baby me. And baby Peter, still just as handsome."
"I'm sorry?"
Blythe simply held up her left hand, revealing a wedding ring. "And four beautiful kids. Love em to death."
“Blythe gets married. That’s sweet.” Stephanie said as her phone pinged, indicating she got a text message. She fished it out of her purse, and turned it on. She looked at her lock screen and smiled. “Sacrificing himself for the greater good?” Stephanie asked without looking up from her phone. She finally clicked on the message and read it. It was from an unknown number.
Care to explain why there are Agents at the party? I know I should’ve locked you up in a soundproof room, or in some other place where you wouldn’t have heard our conversation. Of course you went running to your little hero friends. Typical of you, really. And so predictable. -IS
"The reason I'm here is…something is happening with Strange. Something bad. We don't know why, but Wong found an anomaly here. He thinks that might be why. So I talked with Hill and Fury and we think it might be Stephanie."
She looked up from her phone, but her fingers never left the mobile. "Wait. You're telling me you think that I'm the reason why something bad is happening to the Sorcerer Supreme? I'm an anomaly? Since when?" She said with a frown as she looked back at her phone and typed out her reply. She scilenced her phone, not wanting the dings and pings to distract them.
They obiviously went to crash the party. I'm pretty sure you know why they're there. Second of all, if it was so predictable, how come you didn't lock me up in a soundproof room? Also, by now, you should've realized I would've told all the information to my hero friends, as you like to call them. -SS
She recived a reply immediately.
Ugh. Annoying as ever. Yes, I do know why they're here. Just wanted to know your side of the story. BTW, Congratulations. You got half of those people taken by S.H.I.E.L.D agents. But not me of course.
One, there weren't any soundproof rooms. Second, of course I realized your intentions. I realized the moment I started talking to you. Just thought it'd be nice if I gave you guys some sort of advantage. Third, fancy a cuppa? -IS
Despite the situation, Stephanie couldn't help, but to smile.
"We think so. The thing is, he doesn't even know what's happening. One minute he was fine, the next he wasn't. But Wong thinks it's because of this place. Because of you. Our universe's are too similar for this to happen. And I can almost guarantee that you aren't from this one, which is why Strange is being fucked up."
