(Yay! I love everyone's characters!!!)
(Ack heck sorry my computer died and oof sorry)
Cassie was sitting in the corner of a large, brightly lit room with a lot of people in it. She knew her parents had friends from back when they were her age, but they hadn't ever all been together at the same time. At least, from what she could remember. The nice woman who was hosting the party, Mrs. Hayle-Clay, had tried to engage her in conversation several times, but she was so happy that she only succeeded in making Cassie more uncomfortable. Looking around at the people milling around the room, she shook her head and pulled out her portscreen, completely ignoring her mother's orders to try to be social for once.
(Also I'm sorry that this starter sucks so much, I wasn't really sure what to do)
(It’s good!)
Alpha noticed a blonde girl sitting in the corner of the room on her port. She could finally get away from the adults! “Sorry, Mrs. Hayle-Clay, I have to go to the restroom! Bye!” Her parents would make her talk to the girl anyway, so might as well meet her. She walked over to the corner and leaned against the. “Hello. You must be the Thorne girl. I’m Alpha Kesley. At least pretend we are in a conversation so my mom doesn’t scream at me.” She flicked a wavy strand of red hair behind her shoulder.
(Getting in a plane from Dallas to San Fran. Airplane mode sucks.)
(Oh heck that's fun but also I'm so sorry for you)
Cassie slowly looked up and raised an eyebrow. "My name's Cassiopeia. People call me Cassie. Not 'The Thorne girl,'" she corrected distastefully. This is why I don't talk to people.
(I like Cassie lol, I'll post in a bit I gtg)
(Lmao that's fine! (And thank you lol))
Aytigin growled at his dad who was trying to put a tie on him. He dodged his advances and left the room, shutting it behind him. He rolled up the sleeves of the light grey shirt his mother picked out for him and walked down the stairs. As soon as he got there he realized that both Cassie and Alpha were there. "Hello, I am Aytigin, you can call me Ace or Aytigin." He introduced himself
“Hello. Who are your parents? And Cassie. I’m sorry I didn’t guess your name. Cassiopeia isn’t exactly number one in the baby name list. And why is everyone named after stars?” Alpha fiddled with her black dress and red leather jacket for a minute until saying, “Can we change now? Or will our parents murder us?”
"My parents are Winter and Jacin, the hosts of this…whatever this is. I guess they wanted me to meet their friends kids." He muttered
A group, appearing around his age. Thank the stars. His step sister- Winter, had confronted him a few moments ago, and thankfully his prepared excuse was not questioned. He was Aquila Hayle, a distant relative of Evret Hayle. Yes, he was lunar. No, he would not like a flower crown. Lies and truths swirled into a homogeneous mess that he implanted and choreographed into his mind. His footsteps fell lightly, head twitching. He flowed into the group smoothly, not uttering a word. Looking like he belonged.
Cassie narrowed her eyes at the group in general, shrinking back further. Why am I here? Why should I care that my parents' friends had kids? Great for them, when do I get to leave? "Who are you, since apparently we're all introducing ourselves?" She asked, nodding to the newest person to join their little chat group.
Aytigin looked over to where Cassie was pointing and frowned.
“Yeah. Who are you? You don’t look like a Rampion crew kid.” Alpha growled, showing off her wicked sharp fangs, but sharper yet, her glare. She glanced over at the adults, who were talking and laughing. yuck! She glided over to where the new teen was standing and stared him down.
Karina kept glancing at the young group gathering nearby. There was something that kept her from moving to talk with them. It wasn't anything that they had done, but she worried that she would have to act stiff and proper around them. There was a single familiar face she recognised vaguely. The son of the hosts. Karina had seen him around on Luna once or twice, but never had the chance to speak with him. The young girl suddenly felt a cold hand on her shoulder. The feeling of how chilled the metal was gave her chills down her spine. Looking up, her mother, Cinder was in front of them, dressed in a more relaxed fashion. She always brought up the fact that she prefered cargo pants and a tee shirt to some frilly royal gown. Giving her daughter a gentle nudge, she pointed her in the direction of the other kids. With one final glance, Karina walked over, steps careful. One of the girls was very intimidating with her vibrant hair and fangs, yet had a certain appeal. In contrast, another with short blonde hair was holding her port carefully while examining each person in the group. Then there were the two boys. The son of Winter and Jacin who seemed somewhat familiar, and someone she had no idea of who he was. She assumed there would be kids from each couple, but with the looks the newcomer was getting? He didn't belong to any of their families.
"He's not going to be inclined to tell you with the angry looks you're giving him," Karina commented, voice steady and calm despite how she actually felt.
Aytigin looked at the newest newcomer and frowned "and who, may I ask, are you?" He asked
Aquila debated not answering, purely for spite. But it was important to give a decent first impression. Have them accept him - he assumed returning the sentiment would be difficult with the way Scarlet's child was acting. Good. Better not to get too close. Still, he merely arched a brow, replying to Alpha, "Aquila, a family friend of the hostess's." He cocked his head to the right. "So yes, not a Rampion crew kid."
Cassie crossed her arms, frowning thoughtfully. "What are you here for? Who invited you? Are you supposed to be here? Did you just come for no reason?" She fired off, absentmindedly tracing a finger over a scar on the back of her wrist. She couldn't even remember how she got that one.
"Yes, I waltzed into this house containing the leaders of the revolution for no reason, at all. Do you know where the bathroom is? I'm lost," he retorted, unable to keep the quip from slipping out. So much for a good impression. Oh well, it was easier to let a bit of personality show instead of keeping up an emotionless mask. Giving a resigned sigh, Aquila repeated, "Family friend."
Cassie froze for a moment, speechless. Then she burst out laughing. Her laugh was oddly musical. "All right, then, Sir Family Friend. You talk about out parents as though they're cool. 'Leaders of the Revolution,'" she scoffed.
A smirk loitered on his lips as he focused his right eye on the girl. "It's a good title for a dramatic one such as myself. Though, you can't deny they did lead the revolution." And killed my mother, Queen of Luna. "Who are you?"
"Cassiopeia Thorne. People call me Cassie. I'm sure you could tell who my parents were by looking at me, so I don't need to explain that," she said with a slight nod.
Aytigin looked at Aquila "I thought you looked familiar. I guess my parents never mentioned your name."
Waiting for everyone else's comments to finish, Karina finally gave her reply. "Aytigin, I'm surprised you don't recognise me. I certainly remember you from my time on Luna." Her tone was teasing though her expression seemed a bit confused. "I'm Karina, daughter of Emperor Kaito and Cinder."
Then, turning to Cassie, she grinned. "It's nice to meet you."
Aquila winced, the realization dawning on him that Aytigin was his step-nephew. He was the step-uncle of the boy. Nevertheless, he dipped his chin in acknowledgement.
