(cool cool)
(Time skip to next morning, Sunhigh, it is breezy and sunny and we're in newleaf. Area- An open clearing that's on a small hill.)
(Okay. I gtg to bed now, tho. Would we be able to continue at some point tomorrow?)
(Yes)
(Ok, im here)
Finchpaw shifted from paw to paw anxiously, waiting for Silverbrook so they could begin training.
"Hummm." Came a voice from behind, Silverbrook quickly past up the apprentice and stopped at the top of the hill, "You're ready?"
"Yes, ma'am." Finchpaw stood up, preparing herself.
Licking her chest fur, she began, "Lets first try the Leap-and-Hold tactics. This move is ideal for small cats facing large opponents. Spring onto the opponents back in grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of your opponent's paws and in the position to inflict several body wounds, a group of apprentices can defeat a large an dangerous warrior this way. We'll first try this move."
"Alright…" Spring onto opponent's back, grip with unsheathed claws… She crouched before pouncing swiftly onto Silverbrook's back, her claws unsheathed for balance but not doing any actual damage.
She let out a slight yell of surprise and leaped forward, but Finchpaw was holding tight. Jumping around like a mad rabbit, Silverbrook managed to get her leg under the young she-cat and flip her off.
"Ok, give me a sec." She gasped, quickly licking her ruffled fur, "I was merely describing what you should do when you are in battle! You don't do it on me, and I suppose it was my fault I forgot to tell you to keep you claws sheathed, we aren't actually battling." Taking a deep breath, she finished, "Let's try it again but this time no claws."
Finchpaw pulled herself to her paws and nodded, crouching again and swaying side to side for a few seconds before pouncing again, claws unsheathed just barely to cling to Silverbrook's fur. She made sure that she didn't hit skin.
Flipping on her back, Silverbrook used her weight to sit on the fidgeting Finchpaw, but on finding that she was not letting go, she began hitting her on the head with her front paws.
(GTG)
Too many stimuli! Finchpaw was getting dizzy and overwhelmed, and Silverbrook's weight on top of her made it difficult to breathe. She was experiencing something called 'tunnel vision.'
Silverbrook leaped of the apprentice and stood her ground a few fox-lengths away, "You want to go again?"
Finchpaw remained on her back for a while, dazed. She glanced side to side from where she was, but she seemed out of breath and frozen.
"Are you ok?" She asked, forgetting her pose, she padded over to Finchpaw and licked her head.
"Y-Yeah… s'all good…" Finchpaw shook her head a bit to get back to her senses and pulled herself to her paws, getting in a crouched position again with slightly wobbly legs.
"You're very determined." Silverbrook muttered, jumping back a few fox-length so Finchpaw would have more room.
She just nodded and focused on remembering the moves again. She decided to try something different to throw SIlverbrook off. She hopped from side to side before sliding under Silverbrook and knocking her paws out from under her.
Hitting the ground with a 'Huff', Silverbrook was slightly stunned and confused, but that did not stop her from rolling backwards and jumping to her feet.
Finchpaw had already jumped behind Silverbrook, out of sight, and she jumped onto her mentor's back, nipping her neck gently.
Surprised, she flipped herself over again and gently racked the cats belly.
