(Calico)
(What dose Thunderkit look like again?)
(A blue eyed calico. All the kits have blue eyes.)
"Yes, mother. Can I… we go to the medicine den?" Sometimes his siblings accompanied him there, but he also enjoyed going alone. He watched the processes quietly from the corner, taking in as much information as possible.
(Brb… for a long time)
(Nooooo)
"Go ahead and smell the stinky leaves. Not my thing." she said, impatient.
Ashkit wished his mother was more enthusiastic about herbs and such, her indifference always discouraged him. But he liked to go anyways. He looked away, feeling like his mother wished he was just like normal kits with boundless energy, who were strong and fast, who enjoyed playing with other kits…
(That's Leopardkit who said those things, Oakfur would be overjoyed to hear he was interested in such things)
(Ohhh okay)
"Yes, mother. Can I… we go to the medicine den?" Sometimes his siblings accompanied him there, but he also enjoyed going alone. He watched the processes quietly from the corner, taking in as much information as possible.
Oakfur replied, "Go ahead. Leopardkit, it's not stinky leaves and Moonpool, It's an important and respected role as a medicine cat."
"Okay." Ashkit went off to the medicine den and slipped in silently, sitting in his favorite corner. Neither medicine cat seemed to have noticed him. Troutsplash was laying in one of the nests, his side plastered in cobwebs and a poultice that smelled like it was composed of comfrey, dock, and goldenrod. The den smelled a bit minty at the moment.
Leopardkit went to the medicine den. She sat down, in silence, but then said, "Hey, you're right, this place is interesting." she said, sniffing and taking in the smell.
Ashkit nodded before standing up and walking along the row of herbs to see whether he remembered them. "Comfrey… Cobweb… Poppy seeds… Goldenrod… Dock… Borage… Catm-Ah!" He bumped into someone and fell over. He looked up and saw Finchpaw. "What are you doing, Ashkit?" "Um… I'm just… looking at the herbs?" He glanced over at Leopardkit. "Really? You know the herbs?" Ashkit nodded nervously, pulling himself to his paws.
"Why do I always find you guys here?!" Thunderkit blurted as he stood at the front of the medicine cats den.
"Ashkit is teaching me about herbs." Leopardkit replied.
Ashkit jumped, startled by Thunderkit's sudden appearance. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that Thunderkit couldn't talk when he was born, Ashkit thought he must have been named for his loud voice. "Because I like it here!"
"Yeah, it's interesting!!"
"Sooooo, you want to be a medicine cat? Silverbrook already has an apprentice and Finchpaw hasn't even received with medicine cat name!"
"Well, it's a possibility. I mean, I'm not really good at anything else." Ashkit observed the herbs again. Yet again, Finchpaw was reminded of how similar she and Ashkit were.
"And it's calming here." Leopardkit said. She asked, "What are those?" pointing to the Borage.
"Well, can I train with one of you two? I'm tired of bouncing on dead leaves! I need real.. Well not really 'real'… Combat!!"
"Fighting is no fun."
"It's borage, it helps queens produce milk after they've had kits." Ashkit turned towards Thunderkit. "I can try, but I can't guarantee you that I'll be a good battle partner. I don't care for it either, but I'm willing to help if you care about it."
"You don't want to be a Warrior?" Thunderkit questions, glancing at Leopardkit.
Ashkit shook his head. "I'd be no good."
"It's not fun to fight. Hunting is fine but harming other cats…. I had this dream that a war would start, and then something about ash falling."
