(Soo, Oakfur is mates with an apprentice?)

(No! He's a warrior.)

(But his name is Redpaw- paw is for apprentice)

(Oh, gonna edit it, forgot.)

@TheGoldenLegend

The final kit came out, small, the runt. He was barely breathing, tiny, solid black coloring, bony, he wouldn't be a good hunter or warrior.

Looking at the tiny kit, Silverbrook quickly nipped open the sake and began franticly licking his fur. Getting him warm and breathing was the only thing she worried about at the moment.

"Silverbrook? Can I see them?" Oakfur asked weakly.

@TheGoldenLegend

"Of course." She said softly, picking up the kits she placed them at her side, "Lick this one particular." She placed the small black tom closer to her head, "He will need lots of love to survive."

"Oh… oh…. he's beautiful." she said, gently licking the smallest kitten.

@TheGoldenLegend

"Yes," Silverbrook purred, scooting the she-cat closer to her mothers belly, "They all are." Looking back at her, she added, "Do you have any names in stored for them?"

@Fraust

(Technically it's incredibly rare for male cats to be calico, and when they are, they're rarely fertile. Since x chromosomes carry the color genes, and male cats have an xy chromosome, it's impossible for them to have three colors unless they are a chimera or something with xxy. Females have xx chromosomes, so they can have three colors. Whew, science lesson!)

@Fraust

(So for Redclaw to be calico and fertile is nearly impossible, and even more so for him to also have a male calico kit. It'd be close to one in a billion, or even more most likely.)

@Fraust

(One out of every 3000 calicoes is male, but they're rarely fertile. And even if they are, it's impossible for them to have a fertile male calico kitten. They can have female calicoes though. I don't think it's possible for them to have male calico kits at all, fertile or not. So idk whether we want to change it or just go against near impossible odds? Or ignore science completely?)

(Near impossible odds. It's cats, how do they know modern science?)

@TheGoldenLegend

(It doesn't really matter, Erin Hunter did not follow cat genetics.. like- White cats with blue eyes are commonly deaf (AKA- Cloudtail), black cats with blue eyes are very rare- In order for a black cat to have blue eyes, it must also carry the gene for white fur (AKa- Crowfeather)

@Fraust

(Well, whether the cats know science or not, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. But if we're ignoring it for right now, that's okay with me. I was just pointing it out because I know random cat facts lol)

@Fraust

(Yeah I watch a lot of science videos on youtube and do research on things that I just think of randomly. Like what are the odds of a male calico, and odds of them being fertile. Can they have fertile male calico kits, or male calicoes at all. Etc.)

(We're ignoring logic.)

Deleted user

(Okay. Can I rp the littlest one? Maybe we can call him Ravenkit? Or something else, idk)

(I was gonna have you be the oldest kit that defies logic. BTW the kits all have blue eyes.)

@Fraust

(I can do that too, it doesn't matter much to me lol. And all kits have blue eyes when they're born. The colors change as they get older.)
