Kokichi was put through surgery, getting the bullet removed

After a few hours, Shuichi was told about how the surgery had gone. Luckily, Kokichi had survived and he would recover. That was great news since he was incredibly worried that the other would die. Knowing that he would recover relieved a lot of his stress and worry.

Kokichi was at the vet for a few more days before he was released back to Shuichi. The wolf limped out to his boyfriend and almost immediately jumped in his lap

Shuichi smiled softly when Kokichi returned to him. He was definitely glad to see that the other was going to get better. While it would take a while for him to fully recover, he was going to be there for him no matter what.

Kokichi sighed as the vet gave Shuichi instructions on his care

Shuichi nodded in response before leaving so he could head back home with Kokichi. He was so glad that the other was going to be okay, and he was sure that he'd take good care of him.

Kokichi walked home with Shuichi, he was slower and kept close to shu instead of his usual zoomies

Shuichi didn't mind that. He was aware that it would take a while for Kokichi to return to his normal self, and he was a bit relieved that the other wasn't pushing himself too hard. He just hoped that nothing else would happen.

Once they got home Kokichi just laid down, not like himself at all

Shuichi sighed softly and laid next to Kokichi. He wanted to see the other happy, but he was aware that it would likely be a while for him to return to normal if at all. A lot had happened to him in the past few days.

The smaller wolf cuddled up to the other, he sighed softly and slowly fell asleep. Though he ended up shifting in his sleep. His facial expressions gave way to how much pain he was really in

Shuichi held Kokichi close to him once he shifted back. He was worried as he saw just how much pain the other was in, but there really wasn't much that he could do about it, even if he wanted to.

Kokichi kept trying to sleep, not giving up the fight just yet

Shuichi held the other close as he continued to sleep. He didn't mind at all. He just wanted his lover to rest and eventually recover from everything that was going on.

Kokichi did eventually wake up "mm.."

Shuichi smiled softly when Kokichi woke up. "Oh, hey, you're awake. How are you doing?"

" i.feel.like.shat."

Shuichi sighed softly as he nodded in response. "I mean, given everything, that's understandable. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"n..no I don't think so"

"Well, if there's anything I can do, just let me know. I want to help you. I don't like seeing you like this…"

" I'm sorry.. I'm sorry I'm a bad dog.."

Shuichi shook his head. "It's not your fault at all! Werewolf hunters are rather common… If you were the last surviving member of your pack, of course they wanted to kill you… It doesn't matter now… You're safe… I'm gonna protect you…"

" but I'm suppose to protect you…"

"That may be the case sometimes, but I'm supposed to protect you as well. It all depends on who's actually in danger at the time."
