Fin looked up again, hesitating. "Yes… I think so. Unless it's like, I'll die tomorrow."
Fin looked up again, hesitating. "Yes… I think so. Unless it's like, I'll die tomorrow."
"No, you don't die tomorrow," She said quickly. She looked around and guided Silvernose down to an area of land that had tress as a cover.
"Good to know." Finn and Asta followed her, landing gently. Asta sat down as Finn slid off, and he walked over to Silvernose and Ireth.
She placed her forehead on Silvernose's, humming an old song. It calmed the dragon down, who was still slightly spooked from her rider falling off the cliff.
Finn let go of Asta, letting her bounce over to nudge Silvernose with a little squeak.
"We're a couple, in the future," She said suddenly and without warning. "Married, in fact. With kids."
Finn almost tripped and fell over, freezing for a second. He blinked, wondering how she felt about that. "Well. That's… something. Are we decent parents?"
"Yeah, we are," She replied softly. "I haven't really seen past when the youngest looks 5 years old, but from what I've seen we are."
Fin nodded, shaking himself out of his confusion. "I guess… That's good. I kind of like the sound of that."
"And…um…my parents, well they die when I'm about 25." She shivered slightly, even though what she was wearing was warm.
Fin tilted his head at her again. "Does it ever seem too hard? Knowing everyone's future and trying not to change them all?"
"Of course it does," Ireth replied. "I have so much knowledge of what's gonna happen and…I can't tell anyone. If I tell someone, it's not gonna happen ow it should."
Finn nodded again, starting to walk down to the beach. The dragons were off romping somewhere. He looked back, checking on Ireth and making sure she was following him.
She sighed, following him. She still didn't know if telling him what was gonna happen to them was the right thing, but she couldn't take back what was already said.
"Do you ever think about how lucky we are? If we'd been born just a few years before, we would have been there when our parents used to hunt dragons. I think about it a lot, and in comparison, our life seems pretty boring."
"I wouldn't have been around when my parents were hunting dragons," Ireth said. "My parents were 15 when their whole way of life changed. They didn't have me until they were around 25."
Fin gave a slight frown. "Still. If maybe you'd been born to different parents, and experienced what Berk used to be."
"Yeah, if I'd been born what…30 years older or something?" She fired back, doing the math quickly in her head.
Finn laughed. "Fine, alright. You'd be old now, that's for sure."
"And it would be weird if we became a couple," She remarked. "Pedophilia or something."
Fin hesitated, a slight blush beginning to creep onto his face. "Yeah." He croaked out. "Super weird."
"We have three kids: two girls and a boy. Valka, Alvilda and Hiccup. I don't yet know if Alvilda's named after anyone, but Valka after my grandmother and Hiccup after my father."
"That's cool." A smile came back to Finn's face, and he was able to relax.
"Oh, isn't your grandmother's name Alvilda? If so, that's probably who she's named after."
Finn thought for a second before he snapped his fingers. "That's right. I completely forgot her name."
