Fin jumped after her, barely landing on his dragon. "I didn't think they'd react like that!" Asta flapped hard and spun the two after Ireth and Silvernose. The shouts of angry Vikings followed all four of them as they gained distance from the island.
"Neither did I!" Ireth cried in returned. "But it was exhilarating!" She took a deep breath, then spotted a pair of dots in the distance. "Mum and Dad are gonna kill me."
"Um, and me! They can't actually kill you, you have to carry the legacy and all. They can kill me!" He exclaimed, still trying to comprehend what they had done and why on earth they had done it.
"You know that my parents don't kill people," Ireth replied. The dota were getting larger. "Dude, we gotta hide." She looked around to see which tall boulders/cliffs would be wide enough to hide both Stormcutters.
He squinted. There was nothing that looked very well hidden, so he stayed low on the back of Asta and turned her towards the land. Maybe they could lose their pursuers in a forest, or something.
Ireth saw a notch in one of the cliffs that would be able to hold and hide her. She guided Silvernose down and hopped into the notch, gesturing for her to hide in another place.
(btw the dots are hiccup and astrid on toothless and stormfly)
He angled down, heading for a few cliffs in the distance and hoping the pursuers wouldn't be able to see him through the clouds that were starting to roll in. He spotted a low outcropping and Asta flew down to it. they both ducked underneath.
Ireth kept as flat to the notch as she could. She glanced down. If she fell, she would fall straight into the water. At least I can swim, she thought to herself as she stayed quiet.
Finn kept his back pressed to the wall, staying as quiet as he could. He could just make out the shadows of two dragons flying overhead. He waited for them to pass, hoping they wouldn't look back or turn back.
Ireth took a deep breath as she heard the dragons coming up behind the cliff. "We know you're there, Ireth," The voice of her mother said.
"How'd you know I was here?"
"You have a 5 foot plait blowing in the wind," Hiccup replied, as if it was obvious. They came up in front of her and she reluctantly climbed on the back of Toothless. "Where's Finn?"
He kept his head down and made sure his shadow wasn't visible. From the looks of it, they'd caught up with Ireth. Maybe she hadn't seen where he'd hidden… Finn debated between staying hidden or running again. He decided to stay hidden, straining his ears for the conversation between Ireth and her parents.
Ireth didn't answer. "Ireth, where's Finn?"
"Probably with Asta."
"And where's Asta?"
"Probably with Silvernose."
"Then call Silvernose."
Ireth reluctantly let out a long whistle, and Silvernose arrived shortly after.
Asta heard the whistle and shivered, wanting to follow her friend, but not wanting to leave Finn. He sighed, pulling himself onto her back and letting her fly over to Ireth. "Ah, hi." She landed on the cliff next to Ireth and Silvernose and he waited nervously for Ireth's parents to deliver his judgement.
Ireth stepped off Toothless and onto the edge of the cliff. "I know what we did was wrong but we just wanted a bit of fun," She defended.
"Ireth," Astrid said meaningfully.
"I'm sorry."
"We're both very sorry." Finn emphasized, trying to hide his slight fear of Astrid. He wasn't as scared of Hiccup, but between both of them, he felt very uncomfortable. Asta fidgeted, noting Finn's discomfort.
"Again, we were just trying to have some fun and-" She was cut short by a vision coming on and rendering her senseless (look in other I'd confused). She teetered off the edge of the cliff and started to plummet, unaware, stuck in the vision.
Finn and Asta jumped after her. Finn let go of Asta, barely catching up to Ireth in time to grab her. Asta grabbed both of them, and pulled them up and away from gravity. "Ireth! snap out of it!" Finn yelled at her, while Asta brought them both back up to her parents.
A girl was lying on the ground, a bunch of people and dragons surrounding her. Her arm was visibly broken, and her leg was 'glitching' between being there and not. A long plait was lying out on the ground behind her. Ireth woke with a start as she realised the girl was her, her arm and leg aching as a side affect of the visions.
Finn kept a tight hold on her as Asta landed and released both of them. "Ireth, are you alright?" He asked quietly, when she started to wake up and move. Her parents were close by, both wondering what had happened.
Ireth shook her head. Her eyes were wide and her breaths were heavy. Her arm and leg ached. "I had a vision," She told her parents breathlessly. "I need to tell you about it."
Finn let go of her and leaned back, momentarily relieved by the distraction keeping her parents from punishing them. Then he realized how important whatever Ireth had seen must have been. She acted sore, like something had hurt her.
Ireth carefully laid off the back of Asta, wincing as her foot touched the ground. She continues to wince as she walked over to Silvernose, and as she was climbing on the dragon.
Finn hesitantly watched her walk, still concerned. He got back on Asta, but kept a very close eye on Ireth. "Alright, well, I'm going to head back home, Ireth, if you wanted to talk to your parents." As much as he wanted to know what she'd seen, he was also eager to avoid a punishment.
"I'd rather talk back in Berk," Ireth said to her parents. "We're not out in the open and the people we pranked won't find us. Plus, Berk is more homey."
Asta leapt off the cliff, turning to hover above the others while Finn waited for them. He would usually race Ireth back, but this time he was too concerned about her having another vision and falling off. He couldn't remember the last time she'd actually fallen off of something, and not just onto the ground.
