Sage couldn't stop a smile spreading across his face. He was too happy to let Valerie's nosiness bother him for long. "Yeah, I spose you were."

“Told you so,” she said, smiling proudly. “I should really go congratulate Arianna, but considering that she’s in a cell it might not be the best time to do it.”

"Probably not. I never thought that she could actually have feelings for me Val!" Sage was on cloud nine.

“Why wouldn’t she?” Valerie asked, amused. “You’re a wonderful person, if a little oblivious or awkward.”

"A little? More like A LOT." Sage corrected her. "And you know… Ari's pretty amazing, whereas I'm pretty meh. I mean, you guys are practically my first friends. Ever."

“That’s sad, I think. I really can’t say much about friendship, I only have a few,” she shrugged, eyes flicking into the dungeon.

"You, Ari and Cato are enough for me," Sage shrugged. "My point is more… it's a pleasant surprise."
