Aizawa pointed at the guy, who ended up failing pitifully. Kat smiled and her eyes sparkled with admiration for Tokino. "That was so cool! People'll think twice before mocking you again!"
After everyone had thrown the ball, Aizawa moved on.
"Next you'll be doing a 5 kilometer dash. Two of you at a time to the starting line." He pointed at two guys in the back. The guy with messy black hair ended up winning. Next was a girl who had mouse ears and a tail paired with the mocking dude. He had a speed quirk, so he won. Then was Yusha and Tokino.
People thinking twice before they messed with her was exactly what Osora was always aiming for. And it worked, made obvious by what had just happened, and the decline in outright bullying.
"I'm gonna kick your ass, Queen Bee." Osora said, her eyes sparkling with a wicked but playful mischief as she elbowed Shou. They made their way to the start line while swapping playful trash talk, and Osora shot Kat a subtle wink as she geared up to start. When Aizawa said 'go', they were both off, matching each other pretty easily. That is, until Osora began using her Quirk, which probably wasn't too great for her body. Relying on her blood, and her ability to manipulate it, she used a trick she had no business knowing how to use, to give herself a sort-of boost with distance. Without time to amass a swarm, Shou couldn't use his quirk for speed at all.
Kat laughed as Tokino took off ahead and Yusha looked a bit distressed. Tokino won, of course.
“You guys did really well!”
Kat smiled and held her hand up for a high five. Before anyone could comply, Aizawa called her up to go against some guy with purple hair. He smiled as they walked up to the finish line.
“Best of luck.” He patted her shoulder.
Kat paid no attention to him, only nodding absentmindedly. Her mind swirled with different ideas of how she was going to win. She summoned her scythe, and readied herself. Once they were allowed to go, Kat took off in a mad sprint and pole vaulted, flying forward.
"Fuck yeah!" Osora shouted, hands cupped around her mouth and a too-sharp smile on her face. Her shout startled the students around her, a few jumping, and one stumbling away from her. Shou, despite his raised eyebrows at her, didn't seem too startled. He turned back to watching Kat, letting out a 'whoop!' as his own encouragement. Both of them ignored the glare or two on them, mainly from the guy who'd been mocking Osora.
Kat's pole vault hadn't been the most graceful thing in the world. In fact, she ended up flying forward and having to roll across the finish line. She got up abruptly and dusted herself off, proud that she had won. Turning toward where she had vaulted, she held out her right hand. Her scythe turned a lavender colour and glowed, before turning into light and vanishing. The purple haired guy looked astonished, but said nothing.
Kat trotted over to where her friends stood.
"Thanks for the cheering! It made me all the more encouraged to win."
She laughed lightly and rubbed her arm.
"Pole vaulting. Who could've thought of that?" Osora said, huffing a laugh as she bumped Kat's shoulder with her own. "You should've seen the look on that guy's face." Shou nodded, shooting Kat a grin and holding up his hand for a high five.
Kat laughed, high fiving Yusha.
"I think he underestimated me a bit too much." She smiled. After the 5 km was just some simple sparring, stretching, and fighting techniques (for lack of any better idea).
Kat had accidentally cut her arm on some kid's knife-hand quirk, so she had to go see recovery girl.
"Hey, Sensei, think I can tag along to grab some band-aids?" Osora called, from where she had just knocked a boy three times her size and with a strength Quirk to the ground. "I used up all of mine-er-last night." When she'd been out, technically maybe illegally, doing vigilante work. She refrained from using her Quirk, so at least there was that.
Aizawa grunted.
“Go ahead.”
Kat turned to Tokino.
“Oh, hey.” She held her hand over her arm to stop the bleeding, but it didn’t work very well.
“you need some bandages too?”
"Yup. And I might as well stock up while I'm there." Osora said, shooting Aizawa a slightly cheeky, two-fingered salute. She studied Kat's injury for a moment, before untying the track jacket from around her waist. She used her teeth to rip the sleeve off, before pulling Kat's arm toward her as they walked, oddly gentle. Tossing the rest of the jacket over her shoulder with every intention of bringing the fabric home to her grandmother, she used the sleeve to bandage the wound temporarily.
Kat stared at Tokino and blushed a little. Once her arm was bandaged with Tokino's jacket, Kat stared awkwardly at the ground. She mumbled a 'thank you' and glanced away for a moment before sighing and looking up once more.
"So, um, do you have a phone?"
The question was the first thing that came to mind. "So we can maybe talk and hangout some more?"
"What, you think the phone I was using earlier was someone else's?" Osora asked, raising an eyebrow in what almost looked like amusement. Shaking her head, she pulled her phone from her left combat boot, where she'd been keeping it. "I do, yeah. You actually want to swap numbers?"
Kat laughed at Tokino's comment.
"Yeah!" Kat pulled her phone from her jacket pocket and handed it to Tokino.
"You can label yourself what ever you'd like, but nothing too bad."
((Ahgfd a friend and I finally came up with a hero name for Osora, but it wouldn't work in this instance because the idea was Scythe. And Kat's the one with the scythe lmao.))
"I'm adding Yusha, too. He loves being spammed with memes at three in the morning." Osora said, as she named her own contact 'Toki', and Shou's 'Bee Boy'. That wasn't quite true, but he had yet to complain all that much in the short-ish time they'd had each other's numbers.
Kat laughed and nodded, typing in her own number and labeling it ‘Spooky👻’. Once she was finished, she handed Tokino her phone. Once they arrived at Recover Girl’s office, Kat knocked. A little old lady answered.
“Yes? Oh! Come right on in, girls.”
Kat glanced over at Tokino and walked in.
((Rip XD))
Osora followed Kat into Recovery Girl's 'office', the slightly hospital-esque room that served as the nurse's office at UA. Her eyes stayed on her phone as she texted someone, though she did look up to nod at Recovery Girl in greeting, before moving to the side to let her take care of Kat.
Recover Girl kissed Kat’s arm, taking her by surprise, and gave her a handful of candy before moving on to Tokino.
Osora had yet to use the bone aspect of her Quirk, saving that as almost a surprise for later, which meant she didn't need any help regrowing anything. If she could make it to the Sports Festival with nothing but blood, that would be ideal. "You don't have to-alright then." Recovery Girl ignored her, yanking her arm with a firm and somewhat gentle pull to heal the cuts she'd made. "Thank you. Think I could get some bandages and things for the road?"
Recover Girl smiled.
“Of course, dear.” She handed Tokino some bandages and bid the two girls a safe trip back to the field.
Kat looked at her arm. There was an annoying scar there, but she didn’t care much.
“I wonder what we’re doing next.” Kat sighed, popping her knuckles. “What do you think?”
"Absolutely no clue." Osora said, the bandages disappearing somewhere into her pockets, presumably. She was back on her phone, and various meme-like images and text were visible on the screen. "Maybe something to test a more mental sort of ability, since we've already been over physical abilities."
Kat nods, humming a response. As they enter the field, Kat nearly chokes.
Yusha has the rude male from earlier pinned under his foot, bees swarming around him.
Osora's lips quirked into a sharp smile that matched the sharp glint in her eyes, as she held up her phone and quickly snapped a picture before turning it to video. "Legs?"
"Yup." Shou called back, stepping off of the boy and not-so-gently yanking him up. Neither of them said anything else about that as he jogged up to meet them. "You two get fixed up?"
Kat smiled and held up her arm. “Yep! Seems like you had some fun while we were gone, Yusha-kun.”
Kat laughed and held up her hand for a high five.
Shou huffed a laugh, slapping her hand with the palm of his own. "I did, in fact. Guy's an ass, talking shit about half the class. I owe you one." The last part was directed at Osora, who winked.
Kat laughed, snorting a bit. She promptly stopped and covered her mouth, embarrassed.
She awkwardly cleared her throat.
"Anyway, are you guys doing anything after school? I was actually wondering if we could hang out at the mall or something!" She rubbed her arm, fidgeting with her ring.
