My main characters are based on the main characters from The Hunger games, like peeta and Katniss, but those aren't their names ofc.

ANOTHER ONE!!! HAVE YOU READ THE BOOK?!?!?!
i have it but i’m planning to read it over winter break!!
That is the best book of fiction I have ever read! (And I've read a lot.)
A lot of my characters from one of my stories are all based off an undertale oc lol
Jaire is based (loosely) off of Jinkx Monsoon.
Milo is based off of Murtagh from the Inheritance Cycle
Andor came from an inside joke between my friend and I.
I feel like your main character should represent you and your other characters should always be based on or have bits and pieces of someone that you admire like a bf or gf, a parent that is always overprotective and add qualities of certain people into them.always keep them sentimental and original like your holding onto a secret and you can't tell…if that makes sense.
And ALWAYS ALWAYS be true to the character and don't overlap characters lol
also:
i think no one is perfect so characters aren't either so make them funny quirky and let them have their own weaknesses and strengths!
Okay, this is probably going to ruin everything, but the bulk of my characters are literally my friends. The main universe I focus on is an AU (Alternate Universe), which is based on an image I found on Pinterest that determines what kind of god you would be based on your birth month. I showed the image to my friends and most of them suggested making an AU out of it. Basically, my friends and I are all gods in said AU, but I've added other, original characters. I've developed the AU, I think a bit too much. My friends and I even have a discord server dedicated to it where we, like the absolute weebz we are, roleplay as the characters from the AU, along with any original characters we've made along the way.

Magwana is based off of Undyne from Undertale.
Aquaramis was originally based off of Rex from Generator Rex
Solokind was originally based off of Van Kleiss from Generator Rex (I don't know!)
Crabclaw is based off of Sokka from Avatar
Aquaramis and Midnight's pets are based off of the dragons from How to Train Your Dragon
And Midnight is slightly based off of Zane from Aphmau's MyStreet series
Chrona (or as a human, Lily) is based on the meaning of the flower
Azael is based on the angel Azazel
None of my other characters are really based on anyone/anything
(@Lily_Thyme I have a character named Lily too -w-')
Lily and Camren were both based off wolves, and other characters I had. Most of it was in my head so not much was similar to most characters.

I guess great minds think alike, right?
Scarlett and Emma were originally based on me a couple years ago and now, but their personalities have changed so they're completely different
Angelo, Clara, Roane, and Andrea were all based on opposite sibling stereotypes - Angelo (the oldest) is an awful leader, Clara (the brawn) and Roane (the brains) support each other, and Adrea (the youngest) is a very quiet introvert who likes to people-watch
Laura was based on just a sad backstory involving magic, and sort of what I felt freshman year
Cole is loosely based on one of my younger brother
Anthony is based on my version of an ideal boy
Vanessa (tentative name) is based on a female bully, who has an ACTUAL backstory beyond 'I'm mean because I want to be'

Yeah -w-
I said the other day that Chrona was based around the meaning of the lily flower, but the more I actually think about it the more I realise I wrote her to be like me. Everything about her is me, apart from her hair and eye colour and the fact she isn't human.
I'm writting a mediaval fiction so I try to use some historical episodes ( like The War of Roses ; The portuguese history of "Ines de Castro" , etc) or greek gods inspiration (the family connections and some of theirs features)
Coallen was originally based off of that archetype of the right hand of the big bad, scarily competent and manipulative, almost able to read thoughts, completely mysterious and totally loyal.
Lacey was based off of the average female YA dystopian rebel protagonist with stars in her eyes, confident that if she just brings down the evil empire everything will get better.
