Hey @ToxicUtopia :)

Thank you very much for your valuable information, taken from your amazing culture. I'm sorry if I originally offended you with the idea and concept of the Indian character, and I just want to acknowledge the effort you put in to writing all of that. I am very much open to other ideas :), the only reason I suggested the Indian character having a Hindu style motif (Instead of say a Buddhist one) is because its a thing I know is very much unique to Indian culture, and I want to save Buddhist motif's for some of the other countries. If you have anything else you want to add to that, do not be afraid to ask.

Thank you :D - Sunny

@TheJynnieCity YES! THOSE ARE AWESOME IDEAS!!! Their are moments in the story where some of the other students have to go travel to other locations and track down other potential "Wielders". Maybe the Italian girl could be originally fighting against them and they could have this action scene where she either

1= Takes out multiple students with waves of water from the Venice canal, pushing and knocking them back.

or

2 = Summons multiple statues from the surrounding area to battle along side her, all effectively destroying the other students.

Thank you for those really cool suggestions. I love the statue one in particular, as a sort of more original and unique superpower. Maybe she could at the academy, carve her own statues to fight for her with a chisel. I was gonna save the water bending for Vanuatu (Since their an island nation) but IDK… we will see how thing play out.

Please share more of your ideas v( ̄∇ ̄) - Sunny

Sikhism is a relatively new religion; it evolved at a time of political instability in the Indian subcontinent. The fundamental beliefs include faith in one creator, unity and equality of mankind, engaging in selfless service, striving for justice and honest and an honest livelihood. Originally, most Sikhs were not violent; however, when two of the Sikh gurus were tortured and executed by the Mughal rulers after they refused to convert to Islam, The Khalsa was founded as an order to protect the freedom of their religion. The members were said to have the qualities of a saint-soldier. It eventually spread into a Sikh empire, and they did fight in the wars at that time. Today, the Sikhs in India make up a large portion of the the Indian army, and many of them fought in the Indian independence struggle as well. They all have a bit of that warrior spirit in them. Unlike Buddhism, non-violence is not a part of the rules in their scriptures. Some may be non-violent, but as members of a religion and philosophy, they aren't. This is what I've learnt over the years; so yeah…

Hey! @TangerineSunset
Okay, let me make this clear, I was not offended😇. I was born into a Hindu family, and legally, I am Hindu too, but I prefer to call myself an agnostic. And your idea wasn't bad, so chill.
It's just that Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world, and with it's beliefs and philosophies, superstitions come with it. Long story short, it's backward in it's viewpoints. Like, for example, an Indian author Amish released a book series a couple years back, called the Shiva Trilogy. Shiva is one of the most important and powerful deities in Hinduism, and there are numerous temples, shrines and cults devoted to him. Anyway, this book series tells us that Shiva was never a god, but a barbaric Tibetan immigrant who came to the subcontinent and saved everyone; (imagine how the public responded to that!). It's a series of three books, and many other gods and goddesses are mentioned, but as normal human beings. Personally, it's one of my favourite book series, and I really like the whole new perspective. However, the idea wasn't met by all with the same notion. The author got a lot of praise and criticism for it. Some people felt that a god being portrayed as someone else was disrespectful and was a sin. With a religion having some temples in which women aren't allowed in because they menstruate, it wasn't very surprising to hear all of that.
I think it's a great idea to take Hinduism as a base, but all the same, be cautious of what you write, and take all viewpoints into consideration.
You were right when you said Hindu philosophy is unique to Indian culture, but so is Sikhism and Jainism, and a lot of people don't know it exists. Buddhism, on the other hand, was founded in India, but it has become more significant as a religion to the eastern Asian countries. So yeah, save that for another country.
If you have any other questions about Indian culture, feel free to ask; I am a history and sociology student, so I assure you, I will do my best in answering them🙃.

Also, I had another idea. India has 29 states, and each state has it's own language, food, festivals, tribal communities and culture. On the whole, there's a LOT of diversity. So maybe you can incorporate some of that. Just a suggestion.

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

Hello @ToxicUtopia (*^▽^)/

Oh my god! You have written a lot to help me with my story writing :D

Again, thank you very much for teaching me more about your incredible countries history, as I do love to hear more about different aspects of the world and their culture. (I mean, for Christ sake's I live in Australia… the only culture there your gonna get is Aboriginal's. Beside from theirs, all you get are white racists……. In other word's, I am quite starved for something new)

Also, thank you for that insight into Shiva, I had no idea how much of a controversy that caused! Due to this, I will take your advice and try my best to carefully wright an Indian Character into the story (Following Jainism or Sikhism), as I do not want to represent such beautiful religions poorly or without research. You talked about India having states with 29 of them having their own language, food, tribal communities, culture and festivals. Festivals really struck me, and gave me a potential idea.

Bare with me, but what if we added an Indian character, that is tied in with the Sikh, Hola Mohalla festival? I don't know the exact way it would work, but I will see what I can do to research more about it. :P

Thank you, Toxic - Sunny

Also, YES I LOVE THE EMPATHETIC EGYPTIAN GIRL. She'd be throwing down hex'es that lock enemies into uncontrollable sadness. AND HER AESTHETIC WOULD BE SO COOL THO! Thank you for those awesome Idea's

I had a side note for her: Maybe she should also have really strong and powerful emotions that she can't control (anger issues, gets sad easily, overly aggressive, etc.). Also she changes her mind easily and her emotions also change very quickly, so she is super emotionally unstable. Also, she could kinda inflict emotions by taking the emotions she feels and almost giving them to others but idk just an idea

@SpaceCadet_Bongo

@Fangirl_07_ your ideas are amazing! I was looking for a long time on the design that might work for her. Please tell me if its okay :)

She could have like, possessed momments, were her mind becomes overwhelmed with a particular emotion (Like crying uncontrolabley or something IDK)

Please give me more of your ideas Fangirl, They are really good :D - Sunny

@ToxicUtopia

Hi again! @TangerineSunset
Well i would love to learn more about Australian culture, but the education boards are way too obsessed with India, believe me. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
Speaking of the Holla Mohalla festival, I'm going to be honest; I had no idea it even existed until you mentioned it. I literally had to google it. I don't know much about Sikh traditions, I only know the history part. Also, I live in south India, so not much of a Sikh influence here. I'm curious about how you're planning on incorporating festivals into the character or story.
So yeah, Sikh culture is out of my league (except for the warrior suggestion i gave earlier).
For Hindu culture, i can help. If you wanna be precise about your information, my suggestion is, take actual mythological characters and represent them in the most accurate way possible, in stuff like powers. This way, i don't think you'll have a problem similar to the Shiva thing. Another thing, for info, check out the Amar Chitra Katha comics. They are really popular here, and most of my current knowledge about Indian culture comes from them. They have comics on Indian religion, history, folk tales and mythology. And as far as I know, they are accurate.
I have some ideas too. So how about a Hindu girl, who's like totally badass and defies all the Puranic rules that are laid out for women. So by the Puranas, or the Vedas, which are the ancient Hindu texts, women are supposed to not fight at all, and stay at home and be good wives and mothers, while the guys are out learning sword fighting and stuff. I'm imagining a girl Hindu based warrior who's super awesome at fighting and can handle any weapon. This reminds me of a mythological story, of Vaishno Devi. So she was quite similar in skills; (in the end, she cuts off the head of her creepy stalker). So…maybe not beheading material, but definitely something close to that.
I recently read this comic called 18 Days by Grant Morrison. It's about the Mahabarat epic, in comic form. Anyway, the story didn't catch my eye, the illustrations did. They are simply wonderful. If you want some ideas, check them out. So the male characters are really well drawn, and some are also beautifully masculine, if that makes sense. The female characters, i wasn't quite happy with; mainly because none of them were on the battlefield.
I think looking at some of the illustrations will give you a clearer picture of an Indian figure.

Ok, so maybe she can also see peoples aura's and her aura is constantly changing and it's super powerful, so she gives parts of her aura to the peoples she is inflicting emotions on but idk

Maybe every aura could be a different color. Like evil would be red, so if someone is evil she'll see almost a red tinted glow around them.

Maybe, since she uses her own emotions to inflict emotions on other people, it can cause her emotions to be less strong until she's recharged. And if she uses to much power, she goes emotionless(not forever). idk though just ideas

Hey Everyone.

How do we all feel about a Character from Ghana. Their could be a lot of potential abilities to experiment with.

Here is the design

I'd love to hear back from you :D - Sunny

I really like the image! And idea for powers is controlling metal and stuff like that because I know that Ghana has lots of gold

@Becfromthedead group

Hi! I think this is a super cool idea, as long as you do your research and get feedback from others to make sure nothing is offensive, which you've apparently been doing good at so far.
I don't think I saw anyone suggest this yet, but you should consider adding a character whose aesthetic and/or powers are a nod to Norse mythology, so probably someone from Sweden, Norway, or Finland.

(Bec's post made me think of it)
On the thought of mythologies you could dk many many others! I'm too tired to try and think of ancient civilizations and modern ones, so imma just list the ancient kingdoms I know so others can use it for ideas,

Celtic,
Chinese
Polynesian
Inca
Aztec
Maya
Many of the north American Indian tribes
Mongol?
