Okay so:
Therese and Nich: They meet in prison, but Nich is there because he's a con artist and a thief, and Therese is there for being part of the rebellion. They team up to escape and then Therese falls in love with Nich's cousin Nell. She and Nich have a friendship made of snippy remarks and trust.
Asher and Fern: Try their best to protect each other, and are both secretly royalty.
Stephen and Leah: Stephen is kind of a human disaster, and Leah and him are both in a rough place when they meet and they keep each other in line.
Fitzlan and Rogin. They love each other a whole lot and people will make gay fanfics about them. They are both 100% straight though. They mirror a relationship I have with my best friend. Sort of. We used to role play with them, then I put them in a book and they became their own people.
Fitzlan is the one in charge who has his stuff together. He is calm, smart, and an excellent friend.
Rogin (that's mine) is kind of hot headed and can get up to foolishness. Luckily Fitzlan is there to restrain him.
They are the medieval equivalent of For Forever friendship.
Platonic ships are very unique and interesting!
First, we've got Alex and Savannah. Alex has know Savannah for YEARS, but since they were 4 years apart they didn't see each other much through school. Savannah was the first friend Alex made when he moved to his new home with his new parents. Alex was quite shy and he didn't know how to make friends since he didn't really have any at his old school. They hit it off, even with their age gap. Savannah was mature for her age which Alex liked. They often role played as fantasy creatures and Alex was always the creative type who made up the stories to go along with it. Then, high school rolls around and Alex is so happy to see his best friend. Alex was scared the she had changed but she was still the same old Savannah. Now, everyone always assumes that they're dating but they're just really close to each other.
MORE ROMANCES!
Frankie and Kat: Literally a modern-day version of Benedick and Beatrice from Much Ado (it's for a musical I'm working on). Also their ship name is Corrleone.
Claudio and Liz: Literally a modern-day Claudio and Hero, except they actually make up and have personalities that get focused on.
This ship started out as a joke, but then I grew attached to it.
Kayla and Riley. The two are best of friends in my universe, the problem is that Kayla is already devoted herself (in my separate universe) to not be with anyone and protect Milo from harm. Riley is probably one of the most underdeveloped characters, but she still tries to get Kayla to change her mind. Poor Riley….
Platonic ships are great lol - I have a pair who remain completely platonic throughout the story and get shipped far too much for their own comfort.
My absolute favorite ship currently, though, is of a precious pair from my fantasy - Sea and Sam. Sea reluctantly agrees to help her friend in a certain quest - meeting Kira & her brother Sam along the way (it's rly complicated idk). Sam's pretty renowned around as an insanely good swordfighter but Sea easily defeats him, leading to rivalries throughout the storyline. In the end, they literally have to stand together against their enemy, and they end up saving each others' lives multiple times and it's absolutely wild. Sam's the only person Sea ever tells her full story to, so I guess that's enough trust. Also, at the end, they travel their world (also with a hecc ton of wild adventures that aren't noted in the story but yeah). It's seriously half-platonic but idk.

This cracked me up more than it should've lol I have a friend named Alex w a sister named Savannah & also another close friend named Savannah ouch
I love this pair as rivals.
Stardew and Trouble have that kind of relationship where they're constantly vying to be better than the other. People ask them why they aren't dating, they glance at each other and go "No thanks".
They've kissed before, but it's all for show. They'd kill for each other, but then never let the other forget it for the rest of their life. They're ridiculously petty, and it's fun to watch them in action.
Their relationship summarized:
"Want to know why I hate Trouble? Because he's in my limelight, and I want him ejected from the stage-door" - Stardew
"Want to know why I hate Trouble? Because he's in my limelight, and I want him ejected from the stage-door" - Stardew
that's a great sentence, I'm glad to have read it.
I'm especially fond of my written relationship between Naxaschirgal, Malin and Rostal which is in no way romantic or in some way even a friendship. So it's not really a ship but I don't do well with romances.
Malin doesn't like Nax at all despite him being the first person she recruited for her circus. In her eyes, he's a necessary evil she needs to reach success. Rostal she sees as a friend with whom she can share her passions and whom she likes to tease and watch how he panics when she angres Nax or any other entity considered to have power.
Nax does not understand the reasons for Malin's actions in the slightest but she's undeniably one of the most skilled artists and adventurers he's ever met. Rostal is a fellow honourable warrior and a pawn for him to use.
Rostal is terrified of both Nax and Malin, respects and admires them as if their supernatural entities from another world and is simultaneously happy to call both his friends. He's the middleman who's trying not to get burned.
Now, there is some discussion among the other circus folk about their love life. some are convinced Nax feels a onesided love for Malin. others think Nax and Malin are hiding their rlationship. Others think Malin and Rostal are in a relationship and a few are adamant about Nax and Rostal being an item.
Ugh I love romance but I have zero experience with it and so don’t know if I am really writing it realistically but whatever here we go
Enderstorm and Foxchild. Enderstorm is the Empress of the Three Dimensions. She also has depression, a mildly traumatic childhood, no friends except her adopted father, and a disease which makes her sweat blood occasionally. Foxchild’s relatively normal, except for the fact that he is a where-beast like the Empress. She meets him by chance, gets a major crush which temporarily cures her depression, he rejects her after a party where she gets pretty drunk, they become close friends, he is hired to kill her,(did I mention he is a trained assassin?) stuff happens, she falls back in love with him but for real this time, happily ever after until her dad dies and her depression resurfaces.
WHOA. Crushes do not fix depression. Not at all. Love does not fix depression. To say so is to say that all you need is a hot dude/chick and everything will be better. To do so really discredits the real problems people with depression actually have. Also it pushes a subtext that hot human = cure, so therefore you just need the right person that you don't have yet. Bad idea. Sorry for kind of jumping on you, but I thought it might be important to say.
Okay thank you! Let me rewrite that: it temporarily helps her ignore her depression. Does that make more sense? Because if not, then a big part of my story just falls apart.
OMG I have this one ship: Thea & Lauren
Ok, It's really weird because Lauren is actually a boy, so it's not clear and I have to change the name
And Thea's original name was Ezrra but that also made no sense so……. don't as I'm weird! :p XD
So basically, Thea is like this amazing and smart war expert. She can be super serious, but also a tiny bit funny, and she grew up in a battlefield basically. She is the best at everything athletic
Lauren is this funny and awesome boy who is head over heels for Thea. He grew up in the city and is a famous ice skater. He always tries to charm Thea, but she's basically oblivious and immune to his "charms" until one day when she starts to develop a crush, and from then on it's basically just them liking each other and it's so obvious to everyone but them
In the end they get together XD
Victor and Henry: Both are kind of disasters who bond and level up from Disaster Individuals to Disaster Boyfriends. Victor is a chemist and Henry is a baseball player and both are in college together and share an apartment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iam and Vivian: When Vivian arrives in the spring court she takes up politics alongside King Iam and they become a political power couple in public and awkward dorks in private.
Cedar and Giana: Team up to find Ophelia after Lucas's attempt fails. They help each other along the way because Giana has a bad limp from a broken foot that healed wrong. She's stubborn, he's stubborn, and they both bicker and banter.
Esther and Maia: Bond over their former time as Oleander's forced wives, and slowly start to heal together. Maia is very small and snarky, and Esther translates what Maia signs to everyone else. Esther is very sweet, bubbly, and determined to defend everyone she can.
Lucas and Ophelia: Grew up together at the orphanage and fall in love. When Ophelia is kidnapped, Lucas is the first to go after her, even though it nearly gets him killed.
I have three ships and they're all from the same series lol.
First is Silver and Kaiden, they are both boys and were together during their college years until Silver's arranged marriage that he didn't want to do. Silver and Kaiden were forced to break up due to the arranged marriage. Silver inherited the crown because he was a prince (he is currently king), and Kaiden trained to be a royal messenger so that he could work alongside Silver and spend time with him even though they couldn't be together.
Second is Skarlett and Jay. Skarlett is a girl and Jay is a boy. They met while Skarlett was on a mission for Silver, and she stumbled across Jay's lair. He offered to help her with the mission and she agreed. He went with her and they became friends. After the mission, he moved closer to the forest where Skarlett lived so that they could hang out. They recognized their feelings for each other in the second book (there are six books total) but never acted on them until the fourth book. In that book, they became an official couple.
Third is Zurie and Amila. They're both girls. Amila met Silver in the third book and became his friend. Zurie was Silver's roommate in college. They met in the fourth book when Zurie came back to the realm that Silver and Amila and the rest of the kingdom lived in. She and Amila met and hated each other at first, but it was revealed that they care about each other when Amila accidentally revealed her feelings for Zurie while telling her to stop getting into trouble because she would be miserable if she lost Zurie. They became friends after that, then a couple in book five.
Okay thank you! Let me rewrite that: it temporarily helps her ignore her depression. Does that make more sense? Because if not, then a big part of my story just falls apart.
Yeah that makes sense. That is realistic.
Okay thank you for the help!
I have 2 girls they’re best friends, and one of them is a little homophobe, but they start getting attracted to each other, and even though she’s trying to ignore it the feeling gets so strong that she has to admit it
I also love my baby Klaus! He is an adorable Geman, werewolf baby! He hated Alex at first, which is understandable. The man was being rude and was being a big pain in the ass. As they went along their adventure, he started to see sides of Alex that he could have never imagined. He realized that Alex wasn't all vines and memes. Alex had so many thick layers to protect himself. Klaus also realized he was slowly falling in love with him. He felt it was wrong considering that Alex was still holding onto the grief of his late girlfriend. Even Alex couldn't deny that he also had feelings. He didn't think it was right. He thought that Klaus would hurt him or, even worse, Alex would hurt Klaus. But every time he saw Klaus smile or laugh at his stupid jokes, he gets painfully reminded of someone he would never get again.
Then Glitch stepped in. She advised both of them separately that if they have feelings for the other that they should try to act on them. Alex just argued that "we are nothing and that we have a mission." Klaus, well, tried. He kept trying to get close but Alex's defensive barriers got in the way.
Soon after the mission was over and everyone was more relaxed and happy, Klaus did it. He asked Alex out. Alex was flabbergasted(I think I used that right). He couldn't possibly comprehend what a nice man like him would want with a dead beat. After a while of stumbling over his words, he finally just said yes.
The two are a good pair. Though they may argue, one of them comes running back to the other. Alex life was turned upside down when Klaus asked to stay over in his place. Let's just say, there was a lot of cuddling involved.
Eeeh I'll indulge myself just this once
Mara and Kado. Mostly a platonic relationship although Kado might have felt something a bit more at some point. Originally, Mara hated Kado but sort of became a mentor for him. They ended up travelling the world and fighting together. Their relationship was actually quite wholesome until the fire bitch attacked (aka Mara). Basically, she went crazy, tried to kill Kado and then brought death, war and anarchy upon the lands. After that, things just went sideways.
Orien and Ahmik. I finally decided to make their relationship canon in this story and also an actual subplot. Their first meeting involved Ahmik trying to murder Orien. They absolutely despised each other but Ahmik stuck around because Orien was his only hope in saving his people. Things happened and they figured out that they weren't so bad after all and ended up becoming good friends. Ahmik is a huge flirt no matter who you are and after some time it started to affect Orien a little. He was confused. To add to the angsty-ness, Ahmik repressed his homosexuality due to some very violent events in his past to the point of breaking down when he has to confront it and Orien was raised in a society where things not considered normal were punished.
right I have actual work to do stop helping me procrastinate notebook
