Naveil: messes with the grass "Comfort's the cure, hmm? I… suppose that makes sense. I would always… when…" He freezes for a few seconds. "Change the subject, please."

(Aww can't wait for all the this to reset in Colored Scale and they go right back to giving each other side eyes-)
(They’ll have to build a relationship again, but catch Nathaniel where he’s weak (or show literally any comfort) and bingo XD)
Nathaniel: Messes with the flowers in his hair. “I don’t know how to provide comfort, kid. No one showed me. All I have is flowers as broken memories.” He searches for another flower. He finds a purple pansy and pulls it by the root. He gives it to Naviel.
(stares)
Naveil tries to put the pansy in his hair like Nathaniel. The roots and stem are still visible, but it's a good effort.
Naveil: shrugs his shoulders "I'd say you're alright at giving comfort. I'd still be shivering if you weren't." he stifles a laugh, and snorts instead "But really, I'd say you're better than you think."
(Notebook decided to show I didn't reply when it was posted, so I deleted it, and I'm reposting it. Apologies if you've already seen it)
Nathaniel: Chuckles. He takes the pansy out of Naveil’s hair. He tears the stem and roots off, placing the pansy back in Naveil’s hair. “You’ve got too much faith in me, kid. You simply caught me when I was at my weakest.” He looks up at the buttercups populating his hair. “Wasn’t I screaming and bickering just recently? Nothing’s changed within me.”

Naveil: smirks "Wasn't I just giving you the meanest look I could muster a few minutes ago? Maybe it just isn't obvious to you."
Nathaniel: Raises an eyebrow. "Are you calling me oblivious, kid? You best be glad I took a liking to you. If I didn't, this conversation would have ended a few minutes ago." He finds a rose and picks it, smelling the flower. He seems innocent when gathering flowers.
Naveil: gazes at the other flowers surrounding them both "I might be. But I never said I wasn't either. Trust me, our conversation wouldn't have even happened if we came here, say… a year ago. I'd be too busy trying to rip out everyone's throats." He peers back at the clearing where the forest guardian confronted them. After staring for a bit, he turns back.
"But I changed a while ago, and I didn't realize that until recent. Maybe it's the same for you?"
Nathaniel: Giggles. "Oh, you are naïve. I guess this box has changed everyone, huh? Unfortunately, I cannot change. Everyone is going to get that big, evil demon they have created." He turns to Naviel. "It will never be the same for me."
Naveil: And what makes you say that?
Nathaniel: He studies the rose in his hands. He snaps the stem in half, pulling off the broken part. Nathaniel tucks the bulb behind his ear. "They say broken things cannot be mended." He looks up into the sky, squinting as the sun beats down on him.
Naveil: confused "I'm pretty sure they can. Maybe not perfectly, but you know."
Nathaniel: Shrugs. "Well, no one tried fixing me. They decided to fight me when my grief got out of control." His version of truth is heavily diluted, but it is still his personal truth.
Naveil: sits quietly, thinking "Well, nobody wanted to 'fix' me either. I fixed myself. And I think I did a better job than all of those cowards could've done combined. I'd much rather fight to the bitter end than panic and hide. Maybe it's not about what they want. It's about what you want."
Nathaniel: Sighs. "Some people need guidance, kid. Maybe I don't want to fix myself. Maybe I don't see anything wrong, but they tell me something is wrong." He stands. "I'm going to find more flowers. Want to come with?"
(i've been gone for too long welp lemme see if i can get gabriella to just act out of character bc yes)
Naveil: stands up "Actually… I'm going to go build myself a thatch shelter. If we're all going to stay in the forest, I might as well have someplace to sleep. I might even make you one- but it might not be big enough."
He chuckles, and starts to walk away. Before leaving, he turns back toward Nathaniel.
"I'll come find you once I'm finished. Shouldn't take too long with all of… this." He gestures vaguely at the entire forest.
"Think about what I said- it's probably the smartest thing I've said ever. Put that on my gravestone, and I'd be one happy spirit."
(Hey y’all Ame’s gonna be dead for an unknown amount of time she wanted to let you know)
(tell her we'll miss her ;-;)
(She said maybe even a week- parents took away her phone. We’ll see.)
(I’m back, guys. I’m only gonna be online from probably 7pm-9pm due to some really stupid restrictions my parents set, I hope that’s alright…)
