Salmook: he goes stiff when Tseth calls for him. he's supposed to be asleep - but he isn't - but someone asked him a question, it's rude not to answer - but he's not supposed to answer if he's asleep. he shivers. "I- uh, I don't know."
Rhiv: he glares at Parvus. he still hasn't forgiven the scaly-rat, and he's ready to punt the thing if it tries anything.
Tseth: Well, that wasn’t going to work. It was worth a try though. “Rhiv, get out of the tree. Before I throw you over my shoulder again and bring you down myself.” His voice has a small threatening undertone. Not something you want to mess with if you had an ounce of sense.
Parvus: He narrows his eyes and starts growling at Rhiv, baring his teeth.
Rhiv: his gaze shifts back to Tseth. "Get out and do what? The kid can handle himself." it's one thing being talked down to, but it's another thing being talked down to in front of Salmook. Rhiv taps his fingers against the tree bark, very much annoyed, and he huffs at Parvus. he just might get down, but he's not listening to anything else Tseth says.
Tseth: He looks at Parvus and taps his side lightly. He didn’t want Parvus to annoy Rhiv any more than he already did, even though Rhiv was getting on his own nerves. He sighs. ”Why are you being so stubborn about this?” He starts watching the forest. He’s up here, so he might as well.
Parvus: He looks slightly offended at Tseth, then hops up to a tree branch above him, chittering angrily.
Rhiv: he groans, his patience wearing thin. "Stubborn about what?!" volume, volume, you're getting too loud. he takes a deep breath. "Listen, I- eurgh I parent from a distance, alright? That's how it's always been, that's how it's going to be. End of story."
(Apologies I was forced to watch an hour-long video and I’m still partially asleep so woo)
Tseth: Well, he certainly didn’t agree with that. And he didn’t completely understand what he meant by it either, given his race never dealt with parenting like that. He gives Rhiv a side-eyed glance. “And it’s been working out well for you?”
Parvus: He silently jumps to a branch above Rhiv, staring at him with his pupils dilated. It looks like he’s about to pounce on Rhiv.
Rhiv: he makes an exasperated noise. "Do I even need to say it at this point? It's fine." he looks off into the distance. it's pretty clear that something about this conversation is ticking him off in all the wrong ways. he shoots a glance at Parvus and snaps his fingers. "Worry about your scaly rat, maybe? And mind your own business, huh?"
(It’s ticking him off because Tseth’s the one talking to him I bet /hj)
Tseth: He rolls his eyes at Rhiv and reaches over to grab Parvus. “Looks like casual conversation was a bad idea.”
Parvus: He hisses and bites Tseth’s hand, but doesn’t draw blood.
Rhiv: he snorts. " 'Casual conversation,' huh? Because questioning me like a captive is casual, yeah?" he can't really see Parvus, but he can tell something's up when the rat-thing hisses. "I didn't make your 'friend' upset, did I?"
Tseth: “If it makes you feel better you can interrogate me all you want.” He returns to his sitting position on his branch, and sets Parvus down. He bit Tseth’s metal hand, so there wasn’t much to be worried about except for Parvus’s mouth. He looks down at him. “I know you’re angry, but be careful about what you bite, buddy.”
(Well Damn I wouldn’t have added that last part if I knew it was the metal one 😭)
(A waste of words frfr)
(his right hand is his dominant hand and it’s the metal one)
(Hacks for knowing which one people usually pick up things with dominant hand)
Parvus: He jumps onto Tseth’s shoulder and smacks him in the face, then jumps onto the branch above Rhiv again.
(aggressive inhale you know I’m an idiot madam)
