She didn't move from where she hovered in the air, but she was intimidating. "Release the girl, Ketu. Run back to your master and tell him he is to no longer bother the boy." She didn't look at Runner, but her dark eyes seemed to flicker with an indiscernible emotion. "Now."
Ketu sneered. "You change your mind now? What happened to being eager to create a weapon to destroy this universe? You helped to create him."
She frowned. "My second child showed me Agdrin's plans are insane–more so than I am. I will not let either one perish at his hands."
Ketu sneered. "You'll regret this, witch." He released Tessa, who fell in a blood-soaked heap and promptly passed out from pain and blood-loss. He then glared at Runner. "You are lucky you now have her on your side." Rhianon growled, and Ketu slashed a hand in the air, disappearing.
Runner immediately ran to Tess's side, his hand hovering over he wound in fear of making it worse.
The woman hovered over them, holding out a tattooed hand and looking at Runner. "May I?"
He looked up for a moment, then stepped back, nodding.
She placed her hand on the wound, muttering under her breath. Tessa winced, still unconscious. The wound slowly started to mend together. "She has lost too much blood, and I cannot heal her wings properly." Rhianon said.
He looked up at her, then back down at Tess, still confused.
Rhianon glanced at Runner, then away. "You… have many questions."
He nodded. "….Who are you?"
She continued to slowly heal Tessa, struggling as it was not what her magic was meant to do. "I am Rhianon, the cursed Faerie Princess who turned to and was corrupted by dark magic. And… and your mother."
He rubbed his eyes, the bags still there. "Why don't I remember you?"
"Because I was simply to birth you, nothing more. I did no want the responsibilities of a mother, so I left as soon as possible. I was not even there to name you."
He looked down at the tattoo o his arm. "Are you the reason why I'm a shapeshifter?"
"Your faerie heritage is responsible for that, yes." Her shoulders sagged. "I am sorry for not being there. When I had my daughter, it was then that I realized the path I had taken. For once, I wanted to right every wrong I had committed. But I cannot, nor do I know how, so… so this is my attempt at apologizing to you."
He rubbed his face. "I'm just…confused, I guess." He looked up at her. "But I'm not mad."
She visibly sagged in relief. "I am glad at least one of my children isn't." Tessa's wound finally closed up, and Rhianon floated back. "You will have to take her to her healer. She will know what to do from here."
He frowned. "Are you gonna leave?" he asked.
"I am not typically wanted."
"I….I want you to stay." He picked Tess up gently.
Tess winced in her unconscious state again, but didn't wake. Rhianon looked shocked. "You… do?"
"It seems like we have a lot to catch up on," he said, his wings sprouting from his back.
"Indeed. I will meet you there." She left in a cloud of black smoke, streaking over the city.
He flew back to HQ, opening the door and walking in. "Tess's hurt!"
Cinthia immediately leapt up off of a dozing and startled Demitri, running over to Runner. Her multicolored eyes were wide with worry as she inspected Tessa's wounds. "Follow me." She ushered him through the mansion. Rhianon stayed safely out of the mansion borders, but watched what was going on through her black butterfly.
Stayed at her pace, looking down at Tess's face.
Cinthia eventually brought him to what seemed to be a clinic of a sorts. Kiriti was already there, her ears flat as she directed Runner towards the metal table. "Put her there," she instructed.
