She nodded, taking the bowl. "Spaseeba."

Harper walks into the kitchen, "Runner you good?" She realized that those two knew each other and not by good circumstances. "Is there anything I can do to help or anything?"

He shook his head. "Just more people following me. Into another dimension, none the less."

"I not follow!" Clover called.

"Yet you're eavesdropping! Not helping your case!" He shouted back.

"Sorry. You must have a lot of people following you." She says sincerely. She washes her hands and takes off her apron. "If you need anything from me just give me a holler." She leaves the kitchen and steps out of the inn. she looks behind her and flashes and quick smile to Runner before the door shuts.

Clover walks into the kitchen, not caring if she was allowed to or not, and leaned against the entrance. "I have job here. Stop by for food. Not know you here. Like I said, had I know you here, I just keep going. Locals say good food here." Her stomach growled angrily. She looked away in embarrassment.

"Why the hell are you even here? What job requires you to travel into a completely different dimension than your home?"

"Caretakers travel all over. Not enough hands to stay in one place." She waved a hand. "Report of hidden Temple. Handed down to me from ze Master himself. Hero have other job."

He shook his head, turning away from her with a barely suppressed snarl.

She waved a sarcastic hand and left the kitchen. "Fine. Bad mood. I hungry. I eat."

He kicked at the wall in frustration, gritting his teeth so hard it was audible.

Clover went back to her table, kicking out the chair and sliding into it before digging into the soup.

Harper happened to come in when she heard Runner kick the wall, "Runner, you should go talk a walk or something…please?"

He nodded, rubbing his chin as he slid past Harper and walking towards the front door.

The Ancient Ones were here. Is that what has Runner so riled up? He did mention a bad experience with them. Clover mulled over Runner's mood and her actual job of investigating the appearance of five Ancient Ones. She hadn't known he was a part of it. That's not important. I promised to not pry, and as much as I want to, I won't. Just do your job, Clove, and let it be that. Stay away from him. He'll rip your head off if you sniff too much.
She sighed and tipped the chair back, balancing it with her gravity magic.

"Wait hold on Runner!" Harper says following him towards the door, "I can have soup or sumthing ready for you when you get back if you would like to eat."

((OOOOOOO, how about one of the more aggressive members of the Vanguard, likke, takes offense to Runner basically flipping the bird to them, and, like, confronts him, since they'd already be in the area? Then Clove would, like, hold him back, and it would give him a reason to continue to interact with her

He gave Harper a forced smile. "Thanks, but I'm good."

((Well, he's in "Fuck everyone," mode, we gotta do something, or he'll just warp away after finding some random energy floating through the air.

((It would work. I mean, someone could say the word "Fight," and Runner's ready to throw hands at this point

A boy probably a few years older than Runner appears out of the trees, ginning with a prideful gleam in his eyes. "Well, I hear you're on bad terms with the Vanguard. What'dya say you work for me, eh? Take 'em down together." He scowled as he thought about the one person he's been wanting to take down a few pegs. "Starting with that upstart shapeshifter. Egh."

He just stared at the boy. Didn't day a word, just stared. Unblinking.
