When Runner woke up, the first thing he felt was water all over his skin. The hell? he thought, opening his eyes and realizing, Fuck, I'm underwater! He panicked, spinning around as he looked for the light. He saw a shimmer of red, and began swimming rapidly, feeling the air escape his lungs with every motion. Eventually, his head broke the water and he felt the cold night air on his skin. "What the fuck!" he said aloud looking around. The water was empty, except for the burning wreckage of a large shipping container floating a good 1000 yards away from him. Then, suddenly, BOOM!, an explosion on the main deck, then it slowly began to sink. He looked around some more, thinking he heard the sound of oars in the water…
She always preferred the dark waters. The beast often kept to her place deep beneath the waves, even deeper than the average sea beast. Well, it was to be expected, when you were a deep sea dragon. Her form moved elegantly through the deep currents, front legs having fins attached, sails running down her back. The tips of her sails, as well as several places along her form glowed with a bioluminescent light. Her tail moved one way, then the other, acting as a rudder.
Blue eyes glowed, sensing the vibrations in the water. Whispers hissed through the depths, soft voices speaking that the surface was disrupted. The beast was rather curious, though memories of the past made her think twice. The last time she surfaced ended in near disaster for her…she was still crippled from that, her left back leg having a jagged scar across the hip, and her leg twisted ever so slightly. Though the incident had been a complete accident, the dragon was still afraid.
Slowly, she swallowed that fear, starting to rise from the depths. Her arms moved, propelling her forward, tail swaying back and forth. Her form continued to glow, seemingly pulsing now and then. The beast's blue eyes gazed steadily forward, moving quickly through the currents which seemed to grow stronger the closer she was coming to the surface. As she neared, the sight of flames danced above the crashing waves. Smoke was heavy in the air, as well as many other scents. Fishes darted past her, making a hasty retreat back to the safety of the depths.
As for the dragon, she remained just beneath, looking. Her finned head tilted to the side, the bioluminescence continuing to softly pulse from her body. Around in the waters, she picked up an undeniable scent, the scent of blood. Her head turned, seeing several of the water's predators making themselves a meal. The beast did not blame the creatures, it was simply in their nature. However, sharks and others alike kept their distance from her, knowing very well the dragon could easily make them a meal instead.
She, however, had no interest. The dragon had had her fill below, and was currently just investigating. A form floating above caught her curious gaze. The creature started to rise, getting closer to the boy above.
Runner had felt the presence below him. Something massive. Regal, in the way that it was top of the food chain, and every animal knew it; even humans. He lightly treaded water as he watched the blue glow circle around him, glancing over at the shark fins every once and a while to make sure they didn't venture too closely.
The dragon remained at a distance at first. The last time she had a run in with humans left her crippled. It was only natural to be wary, to wait and see if this was a possible threat, or simply just an unfortunate soul. Well, seeing from the wreckage in the water and the remains of a ship, this had indeed been the latter…
Gradually, the beast started to approach. Her head rose to the surface, blue eyes glowing. She was thankful that it was night, the bright light of the sun was often harsh on her vision, being used to the darkness of the depths. At first, the tips of the sail adoring her head broke the surface. Soon following was the top of her muzzle, jets of water suddenly erupting from her nostrils, breathing in the air of the night. As her nose took into the outside her, the slits along her neck closed, switching to breath oxygen from the world not beneath the waves.
It wasn't long before she was gazing downwards towards the boy. The dragon blinked her blue yes, the griff flaring around her head, protecting her sensitive earholes. Her body continued to glow in the darkness of the night, emitting a soft light compared to the harsh flames in the background.
"A human…so far out in the water…" the voice was soft, and gentle, holding no hostility as she steadily looked down, "The waters can be quite unforgiving…is there something I could do to possibly help? The nearest shoreline is quite far…"
He glanced up at the dragon, then at the wreckage, and finally at the sharks. "I mean, I'm not sure why the hell I'm even out here." The water made his pale, slightly chubby face glisten in the firelight, and glinted off of his big hazel eyes. "Where are we?"

(Another Madagascar fan, I see)
(I think Moto Moto likes you…)
(Ah, yes, words I live by)
The beast's blue eyes continued to glow, the lights from her body pulsing softly now and then. The dragon listened to the male, watching as he treaded water. She did not know too much, but what she did know, that humans were not meant to live in the water. The dragon was well aware that eventually a man would tire, and most certainly drown.
She slowly started to swim closer to the boy. The sails along her back were partially laid down, showing her mostly state. The dragon's large form circled around him, till he was suddenly lifted up out of the water, now resting on her back. She moved, swiveling her head back around to once again look at him. The dragon couldn't really understand why she felt the urge to approach, or even speak to a human…Perhaps it was because she never really had a chance, keeping to the dark depths, hardly ever coming to the surface.
"Unfortunately, I cannot name where we are…my apologies."
The dragon shifted her head, looking forward for several moments, then speaking again, "Though I may have an idea of land nearby…I do not often come to the surface…but I have been around that area."
He shivered slightly, blinking a few times. "I wanna just…recover for a moment. I woke up with water in my ears when I expected to be in a warm bed in the middle of a city, which isn't pleasant at all." He rubbed his nose, watching the burning ship in total confusion.
The twins found themselves deep underwater this time. They kicked toward the surface, discarding the heavier items, glancing around time to time to check that the other is still there. It was night when they broke surface, sputtering. They can see no land in sight, except for a flaming, fast-collapsing metal frame.
Unseen, a girl with flaming red hair was treading water on the other side of the container with a guilty expression on her face. Her shoulder was on fire, but she didn't notice and it wasn't burning her skin. "Oops," she said quietly. "My bad." She looked regretfully at the box. She heard voices from the other side and debated whether or not she should show herself. It sounded like he didn't remember anything, but seeing her face might trigger something. Eventually, he would find her, and she didn't think he would take kindly to her hiding. Resigned, she swam around the object. "Hi," she said, trying not to cringe, waiting for him to recognize her as the girl who had set fire to his box. "Do you remember anything?" She had to raise her voice to be heard from the distance. It wasn't a problem, because this girl yelled A LOT. Which was odd, because her own hearing was inhumanly good.
He squinted, only seeing a splotch of red in the water from the salt burning his eyes. "Nah, nothing." His frown deepened. "What had happened? Was I on the ship?"
They surveyed the area around them, trying to determine their location. Nothing much they could tell easily, though it feels strangely Relthic
She looked around uneasily. "Yeah. The ship started sinking and the captain told us to take that with us." She pointed at the fire. "He wouldn't say why, just that it would help us. It kind of did, in a way. Better it burn than us, right?" She didn't smile at her feeble joke. "We got a good way off, but people started dropping off as we went. Then it just…blew up. I'm Alex," she added. "Do you remember who you are?" She arched an eyebrow and made a face, knowing he couldn't see.
"Yeah, I'm Runner." He frowned. "You got something about you. Fiery. Combustible." He rubbed his chin. "You can create fire, can't you?"
Alex looked at him, trying to decide what to say. "Damn fae curse. Yes. Sorry about the whole blowing up the package. But I did NOT blow up the ship." Who the hell was this guy and how did he know? She needed answers, but she'd have to be careful getting them.
"I didn't even know. Like I said, I just woke up here. But it's definitely still raw. Haven't had much training, huh?"
(wow I keep using her but she's great and my favorite)
(Huh? I thought it was an accident with blowing up the ship, so I thought it was still raw. My bad)
"Yeah. My brother started training me, but you know…" She started to tell him about her evil brother but decided that would be too much. "Things happen." She glanced down and saw her shoulder, which had sprouted another flame. "Shit." She glared at it and the fire flickered, then went out. Hit with an idea, she turned to the package. It roared higher. She stared harder, and it slowly died. The contents were, unfortunately, destroyed. "Well, no clues there." Alex was embarrassed, but trying desperately to hide it.
(idk what happened to the ship but if it was blown up it wasn't her)
