(I'll go.)
"Yes, Tess," he explained gently. "When you get invited to things like this, being on time is late in the eyes of the general populace. We are now at the top of the food chain." He flashed her a playful smile. "And I wanted some time to admire you in that dress."
She stuck her tongue out at him playfully. "I'm well aware of how these things work. I went to a shitton when I was six." She then nudged him with a smirk. "And you didn't know what I was going to wear. I could've shown up in my pajamas and you would've still ogled me."
"That's just 'cause I constantly ogle at you. But now I have a reason." He nudged her back with his elbow.
(I'll go.)
(Alright. I'm having dinner soon so I'll try to respond asap)
"Ah, I see." She smiled. "Maybe I should dress up more often instead of wearing bummy clothes."
"I'mma be staring either way." He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.
Avery bit at his nails, his face turning into one of disgust as he remembered he had nail polish on. He shook his head. Nevermind that, do I look good enough for Atti? He questioned himself, taking a quick look at what he was wearing. He had on a jean colored vest on over a black long sleeve shirt that's sleeves were rolled up to display his scales, he of course also had on his combat boots, because you honestly never know.
She grinned and linked her arm in his. "True true. I'm just too sexy for you to resist."
"That I cannot disagree with." He began guiding her towards the grouping of tables, checking to see if there were name tags and pleased when there wasn't. "Do you want to sit down?"
"Sure. Better than standing in these death traps." she joked, clicking her heels against the floor.
He unwrapped his arm from her's, pulling a seat out enough to accommodate for her dress.
"Look at you, being a gentleman! Thank you." She adjusted her dress as she sat, smiling up at him. I seriously don't deserve him.
"Well, you're wearing a dress that weighs more than me, so I figured you would need a little help," he teased, lightly tapping the top of her head as he walked to his seat.
She halfheartedly swatted at him. "It does not." she protested.
He grinned as he scooted the seat closer to hers and sitting down. "Alright, half."
"Ha ha." She smiled. "So, how's life so far? I guess I haven't really gotten the chance to ask before."
"Well, I saw California a few days ago. It was a bummer, though, 'cause there was a particularly nasty werebeast there. I'll show you the scar when we get back to your place."
She raised her brows. "That's interesting. I was asking in regards to your newly revealed relatives, but that works too."
"Oh, yeah. Haven't gotten the chance to talk to any of them yet, but it's nice to know I have family." He tilted his head. "Did you not notice I left?"
"I was busy in New York, if you didn't realize." She tilted her head back, thoughts drifting to the princes and princesses, then mentally shook her head. Not the time. "I really hope food comes soon. I'm starving."
"Well, we've only been here for 15 minutes, so it's another 45." He studied her face intently, his big hazel eyes glinting off of the lighting and obscuring his pupils. Seeing her now made him realize how lonely those three days had been without her. Even his mom couldn't dent that feeling that something was missing.

Atticus swallowed nervously, his mouth drying up as his nerves rattled his body. He sucked in several deep breaths as he shifted in wait in his seat in the lobby. The sensation of the light fabric of his flowing white robes brushing against his skin brought him back to reality. He stared at himself in a mirror hanging across the lobby room. His normally-messy white hair has been brushed, styled, and adorned with silver and gold crystals. His gold-embriodered robes set off his grey-splotched wings and slight blush appearing. Oh please let this be good enough for Avery…
Tess looked at Runner sidelong and smiled slightly. She couldn't believe that someone could care for her as fiercely and unwaveringly as Runner could. It was an almost unfathomable thought. And she couldn't believe how fast he had captured her heart, holding it with as much intensity as the dragon in her necklace held the sunstone. She supposed she held his heart just the same.
"You wanna know what I think?" Runner asked, resting his elbows on his knees and leaning forward.
