"If your dad killed everything off, that'd explain why my world is so fucked," Huxley muses.
"Language," Victor adds, glaring at him. Huxley just ignores him.
None of you are allowed to complain about messed up worlds until you come to the faery realm Lavinia writes.
"Oh, i've been there…" He said, the two shuddering in response. "Slimy sons of bitches…"
Tell me about it. I'd tell you, but thanks to them, I can't. Lavinia gestures to her mouth with her remaining hand.
Kyoko snorted which earned her an elbow to the ribs from her brother. "Wow…i'm really sorry."
“You have a number as well?“ Chesh asked, her eyes lighting up. She rolled up her sleeve to the upper part of her arm where ’S24’ was tattooed into her arm.
“Yeah I don’t have it tattooed to me but it’s on my arm and was the only thing I was called for about 2 years,” She admits.
"I only got my name…about a year ago?" Chesh said, trying to think about when she escaped.
Kyoko snorted which earned her an elbow to the ribs from her brother. "Wow…i'm really sorry."
Don't worry. I'm used to it by now. And honestly, it wasn't the worst thing that happened to me there. Lavinia replied.
Kye smiled. "I will not say that my home planet has it worst, however, I find it highly unlikely that you all end up in a war every few decades."
“I had another name before everything but I was renamed a few months ago by my assigned family,” she explained. She couldn’t get herself to say her old name. Nothing could happen to her with the screen not working but she just couldn’t.
Kyoko and Daniel looked at one another then back to Kye. The two of them raised their hands tentatively to protest his claim.
Chesh ran her fingers through the lower part of her hair. “I got named when I found a family as well. They called me Cheshire because of my magic and hair color.“ She explained.
Kye put his hands up in submission. "I also did specify that it highly unlikely, not impossible."
Kye nodded politely to the two people in front of him then turned to smile at Ava. "Yes there are other planets with life. Quite a few as well. I have been to many, but not all. Not even close to all."
"Ooh! That's so cool! Tell me all about them, I wanna know!" she exclaimed, excited. Never in her life had she dreamed that one day she would meet aliens! Otherworldly beings, she corrected herself mentally. She wasn't sure they'd like to be called aliens.
"Well, the planet I come from does not have very high tech technology. More like medieval times. I specifically live underground, however, just above me is a pretty large forest and some plains as well. The people are, more or less, nice. However like I commented about earlier, there are wars that happen," Kye explained looking at Ava again, a half smile on his face. "I have also been to a few planets that are a lot like Earth, and some that are nothing like Earth. It all depends on where you go. It would probably take hours to explain all of them in detail."
"Interesting!" Ava enthused, smiling one the first real smiles she'd smiled in ages.
"They very much are, I like learning about the difference in cultures, traditions, and technology. Often times I will find a planet I want to learn more about so I will stay on it for several years," Kye agreed.
Chesh ran her fingers through the lower part of her hair. “I got named when I found a family as well. They called me Cheshire because of my magic and hair color.“ She explained.
“I’m not sure why they called me Ava. Probably because it’s short and easy to say. I’m lucky though some waits don’t get named,” She admits bringing her knees up a little.
Chesh tilted her head. “Waits? What’s a wait?“ She asked, though she had a feeling it wasn’t a good thing.
Ava stared at her lap. “Waits are umm well I’m a house wait. I get assigned to a family and I clean the house and take care of the kids,” She attempts to explain.
Cheshs mouth fell open. “So you´re like a servant? You do get paid, right?“ She asked.
She shifted slightly. “No one really gets paid anymore. People do get credits to use on non essential things. Waits just don’t get these credits,” She explained her voice small.
"They very much are, I like learning about the difference in cultures, traditions, and technology. Often times I will find a planet I want to learn more about so I will stay on it for several years," Kye agreed.
"Ummm, I don't mean to sound cliche, but do those green alien things exist? I mean, have you seen them?" Ava whispered, not wanting to offend Kye.
Kye laughed as she listened to her question. "Somewhat. They are not exactly what people of Earth make them out to be, but yes, in a way they do exist."
"…in a way…." she mused. "Fascinating, explain more?" Observing that her questions were starting to be slightly more mature, she was delighted that she wasn't sounding like a little kid like she sometimes did.
"Well, they spend a lot of time in their homes reading. And when they are not reading they are outside experimenting with materials on their planet. They like to learn about how things work. They want to learn about things," Kye explained. He seemed to be enjoying talking with this young lady.
"What kinds of materials? What's the gravity like?" Ava was carefully absorbing all this information, yet curious about this planet. Aliens. She'd never dreamed she meet one, let alone, learn about other aliens.
