I just drew an OC and I think it looks awful. The face and hair aren’t bad but the rest is trash.
Maybe I can help?

It’s just the worst, but I somewhat fixed it. I can’t take a good picture right now though, bad lighting…
Ella! That looks amazing! The facial proportions look so good!!!
Ella, that's amazing!!
Looks great Ella! I love the shading and the way you drew the eyes! :D

AGAIN! HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU SO FRICKEN TALENTED!?? Oh my goodness Ella that is so amazing!!!! The face is amazingly done!
I did this for #SayHerName. I'm doing a few more things but I started with this and I want to do a sort of digital collage at some point. #SayHerName is a group protesting against police violence and advocating for black women/transwomen/genderqueer femmes. Thoughts on the picture?
That’s pretty good! Not being racist or anything, but learning color theory is great. I recommend it, the skin is too dark to see some of the lines and the blue shirt makes it very strange…
I feel like if there was maybe a soft blue reflected light on the hair/skin from the sky then the colors might fit better but other than that I like it. Keep up the good work!

I totally agree, and for anyone who plans on coloring color theory is very important! Sure, sometimes it’s hard to understand, but simply looking at simple color pallets and seeing how they mesh together well can help many people, that’s how I got comfortable with colors, even though I still am not.
Sinix Design is an incredible artist who gives really good advice on anatomy, color, perspective, staging, etc, so if you're looking to learn stuff here's a great place to start. (Note: I am not trying to say that any of you are bad artists or anything, I'm just trying to share the things that helped me)
I don’t draw people with dark skins, not that I hate it, it’s just I guess I’m just attracted to Asians, I’m not sure. But here’s a pikachu, he came out a bit strange but he’s adorable! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BRIlxY9Sw0HDIQCRu2hF4Lsa7t5z8fwJ/view?usp=drivesdk
Awww! Pikachu is adorable! Also, I know what you mean, everyone has a favorite "type" of person they like to draw, whether that's teenagers, women, Asians, we all find ourselves drawing one thing more than others. And that's perfectly fine, as long as you step out of your comfort zone every once in a while it shouldn't hurt your improvement or anything. I feel really weird talking about this…
Lol yes it is you’re right, I tend to draw more of females as well, only now have I been drawing some males, and usually they are paired with someone.

Ooh he's so cute!
Sorry for replying late, and thanks for the advice! I finished most of the colours at like, three in the morning, so that could explain why it turned out subpar since I was mostly just going with the flow. And I like the colour blue, lol, and I'll use it a lot sorry.
I use blue in basically all of my drawings, so I know how you feel.
Lol it's just such a versatile colour!!!
Okay, here's some stuff I did within the last three days, enjoy! Constructive criticism is totally welcome and appreciated!
These first two fit together as some sketches of OCs, I've been working on drawing characters in motion more and I think they turned out well!
And now, all of my OCs from Stargazer, or at least the main ones for now. Part of Avalon's face is hidden, but in my defense I can't position cameras well and she doesn't really have much in the way of a face either way. Also, the weird dripping line-blobs on Grayle's face (the one with the beard) were supposedto be blood as this is for the finale of the story, but they turned out sad.
Concept art for an alien race:
This is for an older story that I'm on hiatus for, it was going to be a webcomic but then I remembered I'm not skilled enough for that lol.
And now just two other random ideas that I sketched earlier today for no particular reason, just some story ideas I gave up on but still wanted to draw.
oooh those are great!
Thanks!
