Your smile

A glow unrivaled

against pure, unblemished skin.

Freckles like flickers.

Hair like the night sky.

A beauty I want to hold onto.

The beauty you hold onto.

Smiling together,

I just want to be with you forever.

But I can only hold your hand for so long

before my forever is gone.

And you sit around

for another 10 billion years.

Then die just to live on.

This fate is so, so painful–

falling in love with you.

Falling in love with a star.

There’s a bitter-sweet taste on my tongue,
A hellfire burning with rage in my throat,
My emotions are desert-dry wrung,
I’m drowning rather than staying afloat,
And my mind’s dark as charcoal,
Too far out of the realm of my control.

tw: metaphorical allusion to suicide + depression

it was fun to write something more experimental n creepy!

Whoa… that is really, really accurate to how it feels, holy shit.

ah sick i'm glad to hear it! writing stuff about mental stuff is always a gamble when experiences vary so much.

If The Lights went out:
If the lights
Suddenly switched off
Would you be afraid.
Would you be so scared
That you’d wrap yourself in your blankets
And lay on your bed
Cowering under your blankets
Hoping the darkness would go away
Or suddenly end.
Would you cry out for help
Hoping someone would come, and turn the lights back on.
Would you wait until your eyes
adjusted to the dark.
Until you adjusted to the dark
So much that the dark wasn’t so bad?
Until you were so used to the dark
You didn’t care anymore?
Or would you immediately pull your blankets back, and get out of your bed.
Even though you cannot see?
You’d trip over your stuff, and bump into your dresser
Knowing that
Would you stop.
Or keep going knowing you could trip, and fall.
Would you continue on.
Until you find your light switch.
Or would you give in
Fearing what could or could not happen?
And what if when you got there
Scratched and bruised
The light switch just wouldn’t turn on?
Would you stand there trying to turn the light on
over and over.
Or would you walk on
Tripping and bumping into things
Until you found a flashlight.
Then would you use it until you could figure out how to turn the rest of the lights on.
Would you decide that what you have
Is not enough, and finally give in.
Or would you use it anyway?
Even though the flashlight is nothing compared to what you had
Before, it at least is light.
So grip your flashlight tight
Do not let go,
And remember
Darkness only lasts however long it takes us to find the light.
