I don't know how complicated this would be programming-wise but I think it would be really cool to be able to quick-add a page (language/new character/item etc.) while editing a character (or other page that allows links to other pages.) Like when you're adding the languages field, you could just type in a language you haven't previously created a page for.

I hope that made sense…

I love this site by the way :D

@Bianca di Angelo

It’s compatible with mobile, what do you mean? I always use this site on my iPad

i think the bigger the screen is the better it works so tablets are fine but its messed up on phones, so an app would(should)fix that

So in some old screenshots of this site it showed many more categories, such as creatures and races. Then in people profiles it says you can link creature for a pet or race or a language. But does anyone know how to make a language/creature/race page?

you need to have premium to use the language, creature, and race pages, as well as many others.

I think it'd be pretty interesting to include a "disease" page, so you can create types of diseases for your story. It would be especially helpful for people writing sci-fi/futuristic stories, as there would probably be quite a few different and/or new diseases. You could create things like type of disease, how it travels, the symptoms, how fatal it is, what types of species typically get it, how common it is, when it was created, how ofte it mutates, different types of mutations, vaccinations, and cures.

What do you guys think?

@RompingSphinx group

Just a couple ideas relating to custom categories (I'm not sure if they've been mentioned before though D:) The first thing is that I accidentally lost a bunch of work when I deleted an attribute to a custom category and didn't realize it would refresh the page - if it could save before deleting so that you don't have to save and go back into edit mode to delete it that would be really nice. (Also, it'd be really cool if you could have category names and fields be editable after creating them?)
The second thing is that I have a category that only applies to a few characters, but when not filled in, it doesn't disappear on other characters' profiles like the main categories do?

I really love this site though! It's helped me a lot with both character development and just keeping details straight :D

[Edit: It could also be really useful if you had the ability to sort the character menu by roles, so that if, for example, you wanted to find your main characters in a sea of background characters, you could get to them all quickly?]

@NobleWolf

I know you have a lot to do, but it'd be great if you could improve the site for mobile phones a little. Usually when on my Android, it would log me out at random times if I switch to another tab.

I agree with a lot of these suggestions! I have a handful that I've found would be helpful in my mind, most if not all have already been said, so I'm going to list the major ones I believe would be most helpful - I hope you'll excuse my list of suggestions:

  1. (I saw you were working on this one, just doubling down on how nice it would be!) Adding your own fields into the pre-established categories such as add in "clothing" into the Looks category would help streamline information.
    These three would likely be fixed once you implement the ability to add fields to pre-established categories:
  2. Being able to add more variety of family members such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, etc.
  3. Being able to mark a character as dead, and the date of their death.
  4. Having "Natural Enemies" as a field within the Creatures section would be helpful, as well as possibly a "prey" field.
    And Finally:
  5. Being able to filter Characters/Creatures/Items/etc by things such as birth place, age, role, gender, or religion could be very helpful.

Also one thing I saw that confused me and thought maybe it could be adjusted to be more easily understood:
In the Creatures-Habitat category, there is a field called "Herding Patterns". I find this a bit confusing, and think maybe "Family Dynamics" would be a better title, with a description along the lines of "Are they solitary or live in groups? If they live in groups how is the Hierarchy of the group, and how do they respond to others of their species?" Then again I could have completely misunderstood this field!

If you were to make an app, could you make it so that you could edit your own pages offline, then have them sync to your online ones once you are back on the internet. It would be super helpful for writers like me who only get internet about once a week, or just have terrible internet in general.
