This character has been around in my stories for quite some time, and she's changed a lot. Let me tell you about her :)

Name: Phoenixwing
Species: Phoenix Dragon

Now let me explain about her species. I created a 50/50 mixture of two of my favorite mythical creatures. She's an orange-red colored dragon with green eyes, but she has a beak. Her claws are normal, except they have ridges like bird talons. She has a feathery tail tip, long, narrow spines, and her leathery wings have a few feathers across the tops. I literally love her so much. She's a strong female character and she breathes fire. She also has a light form that makes her more powerful and faster called Solar Flare. Her species is incredibly rare (for obvious reasons). So rare, in fact, that the only ones who exist are in her family tree.

Backstory:

Phoenixwing was born to a female named Darkflame. I haven't quite decided who her father is yet, but I'm working on it. Darkflame soon abandoned her, leaving her to fend for herself.

SO HERE'S THE ISSUE

I don't have a name for her species. I need one desperately since "phoenix dragon" just doesn't sound right. Any help would be appreciated.

Dragons are also called wyverns, you could do something with that maybe? There's also tarragon and hydra that you can mold…

I though of the name Daybreaker since phoenixes are associated with the sun and day. This how it would sound “oh look, it’s a Daybreaker dragon. I though those dragons were extinct”. That’s all I got. If you’re looking for something out of real myth and legend, I don’t know many dragon types/species
