Lumens are a variant of humans, a rare breed that only occurs once every four generations. They are characterised by the Lumen mark, a black tattoo-like birthmark on the base of the left thumb. Each Lumen is born with two powers: a primary and a secondary. They are powerful and smart, and for that, they have been hunted.
Lumens have been forced into hiding by society. They congregate in safe havens like Lux's Orchards, a farm in the middle of nowhere that sells its (Lumen-powered) produce in order to make money. It's run by Maute, a firm, but fair, Lumen who welcomes all Lumens under her proverbial wings.
The nearest town, forty-three miles away, has heard of strange happenings at Lux's, and they want to investigate. Discovery is not an option. Stay hidden or be hunted.
Rules & Things:
No sexual content or gore that you wouldn't find in an Avengers movie.
Be polite, but if your character's naturally inclined to be a turd, do tell.
Maute is a character who can be controlled by everyone. Just don't abuse it.
Secondary powers are weaker than primary powers.
Basically, the farm has two cabins (one for girls, one for boys), a mess hall/games room sort of area, several acres of orchards, and more farm stuff. There's a barn and some horses and things like that too.
You can choose if your character's been at the farm for a while or if they're a newcomer.
Max character limit is 2.

Appearance: Short (5'2"), but with a wiry strength about her. Usually wears a white cotton robe and carries a staff. Gnarled, nut-brown skin. Dark brown eyes. White hair, usually pulled up into a bun.
Time Spent at Lux's: She started it 160 years ago.
Primary: Tree powers (which explains the slow aging) - she can connect to trees, speak with them, and control them
Secondary: Growth powers
Weakness: Fire
Personality: Sharp-tongued and quick-witted, but with a soft heart underneath all of that stubbornness.
Other: Don't mess with or underestimate her.

Weakness: Sensitive to fire and ground powers.
Personality: Basically a cinnamon roll. Really sweet and innocent. However, he has a dangerous flip side. When he was younger, he overstretched his foresight powers, and it's done something to his mind. Occasionally, for minutes to hours to even days at a time, he has psychotic episodes where he will completely lose control of who he his, rambling on about random things, wandering around shirtless and barefoot, or even wandering off into the orchard and not coming back until someone goes and finds him. During those episodes, he needs careful minding and someone to keep an eye on him.
Other: He could potentially fix things with his probability manipulation, but he's too scared to try. He's afraid of his own powers and only uses them in times of dire need.

Appearance: Long black hair that's almost always in a ponytail. dark brown eyes and slightly tan skin. She has a lopsided grin and a scar going all the way down her left upper arm. A few smaller ones litter her body but they are all faded and hidden by clothes. She's rather skinny and tall. There's a small dying rose tattoo on her ankle and a small daisy on her upper arm. She's usually wearing form fitting clothes.
Time Spent at Lux's: A few days
Primary: Charmspeak (people do whatever she says. works best when someone is attracted to her)
Secondary: small illusions (sort of goes with her primary where if she says someone sees something they can see it. Its less powerful and easier to fight off than her charmspeak)
Weakness: water, darkness, being alone
Personality: Can be very manipulative and a bit of a pathological liar. She has abandonment and commitment issues so she neer lets herself connect with others. She never stays in the same place for very long. Back in the real work she would constantly change her personality to fit those around her. To blend in. Using her powers a little recklessly.

Personality: Jax is very sweet, caring and innocent, although she's not very trusting at first. She's quick-thinking, and tries to balance her emotions with logic.
