The forest that surrounded the siblings’ treehouse was a friendly sort, the opposite of what you would think a haunted forest would be. Even at night, it was more enchanting than foreboding. Pandi and Dion had lived there all of their lives, and they knew this forest like the back of their wing. They now wandered this forest together, on one of their excursions they liked to take. Dion was a ways ahead as a goshawk, his yellow eyes glancing around in alertness. Pandi followed behind in human form, staying low on the ground to find berries to collect.
Pandi heard his brother’s call. They looked up to the tree where he was perched, eyes wide.
“You see something, Di?” He asked. Dion’s head snapped in his direction, then back to look into the distance. He flew off, somewhere east.
“Wait for me, ya doof!” Pandi called after him, shifting into an osprey and following after him.

She has just woken up again for the day, she had no clue what time it was or what would unfold in the upcoming day, though she knew she woke up in a cold sweat.
Another nightmare..
She had been getting them a small bit when she was younger..but now that she was all alone it seemed that she had them every night now.
Every night a new monstrosity to tackle, nothing ever recycled, or at least, not in anyway that could be recognize. She rubbed her eyes with a yawn. Stretching out her arms and moving to stand up and brush herself off. She was just wear typical clothing, nothing too fancy.

As the brothers flew over the forest, Pandi could make out a castle built into a few tall trees in the distance. It struck him as odd. Both of them knew this forest well, and they’d never come across this thing before. Pandi would have remembered seeing something like that.
They each perched on a branch of a tree in front of the castle. Now that they were up close, Pandi could see how the trees surrounding it acted almost like support for the structure, the walls built from the branches and the canopy of leaves acting as a roof.
Dion shifted to human form, and hung from the branches. “I just thought it was weird. I don’t remember this being here.”
Pandi also shifted to human form. “Yeah…. It’s strange. We should explore!”
“Paaaaan,” Dion groaned. “That might not be a good idea. We’ll just be heading in there with no previous preparation.”
His brother laughed. “C’mon, it’ll be fine. It looks abandoned, so nothing will happened. Besides, gods only know what’s in there.” A mischievous spark lighted in their eye. He could tell Dion was curious too.
He sighed. “Well, that’s true. It does look abandoned…” he paused. “Fine.”
“Yayyyy,” Pandi laughed, shifted into an osprey again, and made his way over to the castle. Their brother followed after.

She was just trying to find something to eat it in the kitchen when she realized she heard voices just outside.
people..?
She wondered if it was good people, or bad, like the people who hurt her in the past. She has been living alone her for a while and she really wanted contact with people…someone.
However she wasn't so desperate she would charge in the direction of anyone she heard. She decided it would be best to hide and maybe peek at them instead of full on talking to them.

The brothers perched on an open window. Dion clicked his beak in hesitation, but Pandi flew inside and shifted into a human. The room the window opened into was plain and old, with dust mites floating about. A faded rug was laid out on the floor.
Pandi waited. His brother ruffled his wings nervously. Scoffing, they held out their hand, and Dion hopped onto it, making it his perch. They looked around, spotting a hallway branching out from one wall. Dion hopped onto Pandi’s shoulder, and then walked into the hallway, not finding much in the room they were in.

If they walked into the room next to the one they were previously in. They would notice a sleeping bag on the floor and a pillow, probably still little warm from jaspers body heat.
Jasper on the other hand had rushed to the abandoned kitchen and grabbed a wooden pin roller, that incase anyone came to her she would charge at them and hit them over the head as hard as she could.
She snuck out from the kitchen and peaked at pandi, before moving back behind the wall.

There was only one door at the end of the hallway, which led into what looked like a bedroom, but it was nothing like Pandi’s or Dion’s bedroom. Their beds were usually like large nests, circular, filled with feathers, pillows, and blankets in case they accidentally shifted in their sleep.
Dion chirped inquisitively. “Yeah,” Pandi muttered, putting a hand up to his mouth. “You think someone lives here after all?” His brother answered him with nervous trilling and ruffling his feathers.
Up head, they went through another doorway and into a living room and kitchen, with no walls separating them, only a large branch of the tree that acted like a support beam. The closer the brothers looked, the more it was made apparent that this space was lived in, not abandoned at all.
Dion shifted and took ahold of Pandi’s arm. “Pan, we should go. If someone lives here, we’re trespassing right now.”

She heard them speaking to each other and held tight to the wooden rolling pin in her small hands. She moved to look over and peak at the two of them from behind the support beam and accidentally dropped the wooden rolling pin, it made a small thud. She reached over for it but when she tried to scoot it towards her it just moved to roll over to Pandi and Dion, and knock against pandis foot.
No no no no-
She watched it roll before hiding behind the support pillar again. aahhhhh I'm done for…

@Tired-but-passionate

“Ah, yeah,” Pandi muttered, starting to feel a little uncomfortable. “We wouldn’t want to be rude if they come back and happen to find us here.”
Just then, there came the sound of a thud. Both brothers’ heads snapped in the direction of the sound, watching as a rolling pin rolled towards them. Pandi’s eyes followed it as it hit his foot, but Dion then looked beyond it and over to the large tree branch.
“What…?” He cautiously moved foward, while Pandi picked up the rolling pin and followed after.
They peeked around the tree branch. “O— oh!” Dion jumped a little. “Someone is here!”
Pandi gasped. “Oh, hi! Sorry about the intrusion, we thought this place was abandoned.”
A small girl. She was tiny, but looked to be around the same age as the brothers. She seemed scared too. Did she know about their presence before this?

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

She jumped a little when Dion came over to where she was and she quickly squirmed away from him over to the other side of the kitchen, she ended pressing herself into a wall to get away from them, only to see Pandi pop up right next to the other guy, which made her even more afraid.
She had flashbacks back to when her famy was killed and all of the bad people destroying the life they had and she just started shaking, she didn't know if I rage or in fear. She stared them down, looking between them and then looking for an exit.
She spots the knife holder and dashes for it, grabbing a knife hastily and turning back to them as the rest of the knives fall behind her, one skimming her leg. She winced, looking behind her as he leg began to bleed but she focused her attention on the two of them, pointing the knife at them.

@Tired-but-passionate

Apparently, she was much more than scared. She was terrified. All the siblings could do was watch as she went to grab a knife. Their eyes widened, and Pandi quickly rushed forward so the girl wouldn’t hurt herself, but it was too late, and Dion pulled his sibling back.
“We startled her,” he said. “And now she’s got a knife…”
“And she’s hurt!” Pandi refuted. He turned to her, said, “But we won’t hurt you, we promise. Are you okay? We’re sorry we startled you. We can help you with that injury, if you need it.”
They at least wanted to reconcile things before they both left. Things had clearly started on the wrong foot.

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

She could feel her leg throbbing in pain as the blood oozed out and onto the floor, if she continued to let it bleed she might start feeling light headed and she couldn't afford to pass out with these people infront of her.
She pointed the knife at the both of them.
"S-stay back! I'm warning you! I-i'll stab you!"
She stared them down, keeping the knife pointed at them and looking between the two of them.
"Wh..why would you want to help me? Arent..Aren't.. you here to finish the job?" She raised a brow at the two of them as she held the knife.

@Tired-but-passionate

Dion’s eyes kept sliding to where the girl’s leg was oozing blood. Pandi held out their hands, attempting a placating gesture.
“Hey, hey, let’s just calm down. You can just put down the kni— hm? What do you mean? Finish what job? You’re not saying someone tried to, uh, to hurt you before this, are you?” His speech was rather quick paced due to his unease. Their brother glanced over, raising his eyebrows. Pandi just shrugged.
“Look, that looks like it really hurts,” they grimaced. “We would not want it to get infected or cause you to lose to much blood.”
“Is there anywhere you keep medical supplies?” Dion asked.

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

She looked nervously between the two, clenching the knife holding it in front of her towards the two.
She can feel the blood oozing out and was slowly getting close to passing out. She rubbed her eyes, glaring at the two of them.
"Yes people have! People do bad things and they- they killed my parents!"
She yelled at them, shaking slightly at the mention of her parents death.
She was breathing heavily as it got harder to stay awake. She needed to treat her leg, but she didn't want to turn her back to the two of them.
"Look just go in that. Corner and stay there!"She yelled at them.

@Tired-but-passionate

They glanced at each other, Pandi worried and Dion confused. Why was the girl still threatening them with the knife? Sure, she was injured, but she could still just shift and fly away, right?
“Should we get help?” Pandi asked.
“I think town is too far away…” Dion said, looking back to the girl. “We’re not going to hurt you, we promise. You’re losing a lot of blood, and you could die if you don’t let us help, alright? I’m sorry about your parents.”
His brother gripped his arm. “Didi, her eyes. She’s swaying. Get the knife.”
With a nod, Dion shifted into a goshawk and quickly dove toward the girl, snatching the knife away with his talons. Pandi started forward, holding out his hand in case she tried to strike them.
“Let us help you,” he said, as calmly and clearly as they could. “Can we look at your leg?” They glanced around, spotting a towel on the kitchen counter, and grabbing it so he could possibly use it to staunch the bleeding.
