History - What is Earthworld ’s history?

Although the age of Oceanus is unknown, it is known that the very first civilizations are located in Rexipius, near what is now the capital of Rexipius (Sapphos). It was in Rexipius, the Middle World, where the Great Seperation began.
At the time, Oceanic civilizations were led by chieftans. In Year 1, (which is when our timeline begins) two chieftans, the barbaric Cumhall Ui Tréan, and the conniving Lamech Ui Eitheach, over who had more power in the city. Just as they were about to decimate each other and their followings, the chieftan of a third tribe that lived in the civilization—records suggest her name was Mirna—stepped in and suggested that her tribe move north, Cumhall’s stay in place, and Lamech’s move south—that there was plenty of land in the world for all of them.
Lamech and Cumhall grudgingly agreed to this, but Lamech insisted that his tribe stay and Cumhall’s move south. Through archeological sources, we can tell that Cumhall’s tribe settled in what is now the Oceanic country Cibus (in Bellis). Cumhall is hailed as the ancestor of all Bellans; Lamech is considered the ancestor of all Rexipians, and Mirna is the mother of all Emanturs. In her honor, the only rulers allowed in Emantur are female.
For more information on Mirna, Cumhall and Lamech, check out the biography resources in the public library. It is hard to come of much information, however, because they lived so long ago. The only evidences we have are the Cernere Carvings, pictures of the story engraved on a wall in the ruins of a Rexipian palace; pieces of the carvings are on display at the Oceanic history museum in Philolougus, Sapphos.

Chapter Two: Developing Divisions
After the split of the three tribes, each went on to develop their own societies. In Rexipius, education was promoted. Some children were taught how to write, which at the time (circa YEAR 121-223) was rare. Rexipians also began to develop the first laws (the Code of Scritum) made in Scritum, Rexipius. The first settlers in Aedifix began to build more impressive buildings, ones that have lasted, helped, no doubt, by the education promoted by Rexipian early chiefs (later called royals and lawmakers).
Up in Emantur, the peaceful nation stayed mostly compacted in what is now Cento and Cantus, where they grew food and performed early plays and music for entertainment in the middle of cities. Emanturians did not (and still don’t) excel in mathematics and structuring buildings, so not many of their ancient buildings have lasted. However, in 201, settlers arrived in Silva, a deeply forested land, and began to discover how to make paper—something that greatly benefitted all divisions later on (standard writings being cut into stone with runes). Paper was sent back to writers in Cento and those writers began to write down the first histories and plays.
Down in Bellis, the least improvements seemed to have been made, but considering the warlike Bellans, one great leap in their world of diplomacy was the construction of the Gollun Arena.
Located in Goll, Usus (the remains of which can be seen today) was a large stadium meant for champions of a warring tribe (which later became countries) to fight to the death. Goll acquired its name from the first fight in the arena, where it is recorded on stone that the surviving champion had one of his eyes stabbed out. For every fight, representatives of every tribe had to attend so to ensure the compliance of the losing tribe, if they made any disagreements. This was called the Act of Ussus.
It was in Rexipius, however, that a man living there would change the world. His name was Angelo Sperare, who lived during the years 223-274 in Aedifix. He had a dream of a road that would connect all three divisions and allow trade between them. Although his original work never survived, scholars in Sapphos discovered his work after his death and shared it with rulers in Lex. Archictects from Aedifix and Arithsum agreed to do the work, and the Rexipian ruler at the time (Harold I) approved the ideas.
Thus work began on the road. The Road of Oceanus, completed after approximately 296 years, connected Emantur, Rexipius and Bellis, tracing through the capital cities. After this, the current Rexipian ruler (El ui Laoch) called the first world council (inviting leaders of every tribe or province) to the royal palace in Lex. After a five month summit, the three divisions came to a conclusion. As we know from the Emanturian Documents of the Summit of El ui Laoch, a new Rexipian province, Nuntia, was created. People who moved to Nuntia (or were in Nuntia) were given the jobs of messengers and deliverers. The Oceanic postal service, our Poist Seirbhís, was founded then (in year 570).
Soon after the creation of the Road, Nuntia, and the Poist Seirbhís, other tribes—which soon developed into organized countries (the last of them being Aquiteren, Bellis in 599)— realized they could sell and trade goods to other countries because of the Road. Eventually, Emanturians stopped producing their own food and instead relied on the food shipped to them by Bellis—in exchange for clothes shipped down to Bellis.
So it went in many countries. The quality of life greatly improved for many people now that skilled manufacturers could solely focus on making their particular product and not have to worry about growing food or gathering water instead. Many new provinces sprang up in Emantur—Glenwog, Caftum, and Levis—known as factory countries for the products they continually made. Even now, the wares supplied by these three Emanturian countries have not changed.
Each division had one (and still has) major city for sending out goods. In Bellis, all supplies are delivered to Crement, Auctus, in Rexipius, supplies are gathered and delivered in Iter, Nuntius (where the Road meets) and in Emantur, goods are gathered and delivered from Schema, Cento. From Sospita, Bellis, guards were provided and stationed along the roadsides, catching criminals or bandits, and Emantur provided deliverers along the roads to work for the different divisions. Rexipius regulated the tax codes and made repairs to the roads; also invented, in Pythonia and Arithsum, better ways of transportation through mathematics and engineering or use of the Ability (refer to school library for resources). These inventors worked closely with transportation manufacturers in Caelium, Emantur, thus promoting interdivision peace between the two.
Although the divisions now rely on other divisions (namely Bellis) for food and agriculture, each other division has one or more countries devoted to growing food, in case of an emergency, drought, or if extra supply is needed.
Also during the Age of Advancement, Rexipius formed the country Praeco on a new peninsula, Praeco being dedicated to creating the news and printing newspapers. Due to Rexipius’ sending books into places like Bellis, education became more valued, schools were built (with help from architects from Arithsum and Aedifix) and learning flourished in even the barbaric places like Bellis. New provinces in Rexipius were formed, like Mendelen and Cliria, which were especially designed for doctors to reside and provide care to needy patients who traveled the way, and also export medicinal and scientific knowledge.
The Road is likened to Oceanus’s lifeline; without it, Oceanus would collapse into decline and famine. Thanks to Angelo Sperare and his idea for a road, Oceanus began the Age of Advancement.

Chapter Four: Modern Era/Interdivision Policies
Ever since the Road was established, travel between divisions has been constant. To keep each divisions’ people separate, guidelines have been made by Rexipian rulers to regulate interdivision policy.
Nuntian Messengers/Deliverers. Nuntian messengers and deliverers are licensed to travel to other divisions. They cannot stay in those other divisions for more than three months (120 days at longest) at risk of being banished from Rexipius and labeled a Wanderer.
Doctors from other divisions traveling to Rexipian medicinal bases. Doctors who are properly educated and wish to treat people from Mendelen and Cliria are required to obtain a Rexipian Temporary License. Without it, they are expelled from the Rexipian division by law enforcement.
Bellan soldiers, guards, and law enforcement. Bellans of the before mentioned categories, trained in countries like Sospita, Aquiteren, Proleum, or Cassis and approved by their Bellan governments to be serviced to other divisions by way of the Interdivsion Relations Act, a law first made in the summit of El ui Laoch, (see page 4) are required to also obtain licenses, not from the divisions they will be occupying, but by the Bellan governments they serve. Once a year, (but not all at once) they must return to the country which they were trained in to renew their license, train, go over rules and/or study new ones, and visit family for a general leisure time.
Leisure Travel. Before traveling to other divisions, a traveler has to acquire a background check and Temporary Licsense from the divisions of those he wants to visit. This can be done by sending a letter through the Poist Seirbhís to the other divisions’ Interdivision Travel Agency applying for a license, and also providing a name and other information so workers there can conduct the required background check. Travellers must keep their license with them at all time.
Relationships Between Citizens of Different Divisions. Friendships (preferably kept up in letters sent through the Poist Seirbhís, are allowed. No sexual relations between members of different divisions are legal; they are strictly punishable. Citizens of different divisions cannot marry without express permission of the majority of lawmakers in both divisions.
Students at the Schools. Representative royal students from countries and divisions other than Rexipius are sent letters of invitation to the school and are provided with registration papers. The registration papers are valid for as long as it takes to complete the student’s education. After that, students/royals need to acquire the same Temporary License to visit other divisions.

After the advent of the Great Division and before Angelo Sperare, when the countries and peoples were only just beginning to spread, the Dhruvans in the South were just starting to form and the Systkin countries (Sjo, Stolpe, and Kansa) were beginning; when the Silvans stories fresh appeared on their cloth and the Bellans united in might, when Emantur was blessed, when Eithne was its own and when Karlhelm was new, came the most notorious figure in Oceanic history: His name was Nor, or, as he was called by the Systkin he terrorized Kveld-Jafnan, or Everlasting Night, ανατριχίλα by the Emantrians; came to be born.

Nor (for his real name has been forgotten long ago) is Karlhelmian by descent, one of the first of his race, and a mighty hunter he was, until he discovered powers not tied to the physical; he discovered magical powers, and he was the first among his race to hold them. The ypsilós they are called by the Emantur, the æztr by the Systkin, and the schrill by the people of Karlhelm. The first of his kind was he, and prideful did he grow as he performed feats more and more terrible with his power, subjecting many to his will in fear and cruelty.
Yet he promised hope. To a nation of poor Karlhelmians, he promised prosperity; wealth; safety; and the chance to be proud of who they were. The people of Karlhelm were bound to him in loyalty and he to them, and for a while he subsided in the deeds of evil as he patiently helped them prosper. Great was his pride, and the temptations of his power, to use it for ill, assailed him. He grew close to the figure of Habeas, Wolf of Chaos, who promised him more power, the world. His downfall came when he found, in the forest, Kallistos, daughter of Adala, King of Emantur. Nor at once fell in love, but she resisted him with her own powers of the former blessing of Emantur. The daughters of the Emantur were not to marry anyone outside the Silvans for the preservation of their blessing, yet the heart of Kallistos was cruel; thus she set to him three tasks to prove himself worthy.
The first task, impossible, she demanded of him, was to find and chain the manticore Rasend to the highest mountain in Emantur, βουνό. Rasend was a thing of myth, terrifying the people of the world and feeding upon maidens. Nor set out to do this in his pride, thinking of his hail as a hero when he would chain and kill the evil beast, greatest and most powerful of what then were the Ignan Dragons, the servant of Habeas greater than any other.
Many long days had passed where Nor attempted to find Rasend, but succumbed and used his power instead to find him and Rasend was immediately called to him. A fight ensued in which Habeas, unknowing to Nor, allowed Nor to turn out victorious. In his pride, Nor showed the chained Rasend to Kallistos, and earned her fear.
It came at this time that the word of Allwer Himself was delivered unto Nor, to kill the evil creature Rasend, and be saved from the doom of evil that awaited him; thus Nor forged for himself the sword Macht from his magic that Allwer had given him. A more powerful sword will never be known.
Rasend being chained, Nor trekked up the mountain and was about to plunge it into the belly of the beast, but Habeas, terrified, quickly appealed to Nor's pride and whispered many temptations into his ear; offering Rasend to be Nor's slave instead. This temptation overtook the strength of Nor: forgetting entirely the command of Allwer, he dipped his sword in Rasend's blood, unifying Rasend to his will, and left.
Kallistos heard that Rasend was bound to the will of Nor, and the world watched in terror, the people of the earth giving homage to him. Afraid herself and hoping it would result in his death, she set him to the task of finding the ancient sea witch, Bhanba, and to bring back to her a powerful extract of her blood and diamonds from her many potions.
Ensuing was a great battle, in which he barely came out victorious and delivered the extract to Kallistos.
Seeing that his power was great, and growing by the day, she cried out in a rage and asked of him what no one in the history of the world should ever think of doing, and asked him to make himself immortal. This was considered great evil in the eyes of Allwer and brought delight to the eyes of Habeas, for he saw in Nor a slave most useful of all.
Invigorated by the challenge, Nor unchained the beast Rasend and set to it with great fire, which struck fear into the heart of Kallistos. To become immortal, blinded in his pride, Nor with the aid of Rasend who Knew All Places, sook the Regin, home of the fire god Val Tivar, who had been constrained in chains of flame by the everwise Eternal Allwur. The audacity of Nor to defy a decree of Allwur himself meant nothing to him; he went straight ahead, and for his perverted task, took the very sword Machte which Allwer himself had allowed him to have and sought out Val Tivar finding him writhing in his agony and used his magic to conjure spells for himself, spells to make him immune to the magic of a god by sacrificing the life of an Emantrian snowlark, the creature declared by the Emanturs to be the most innocent that ever breathed the air of their world.

A fiery battle came upon both Val Tivar and Nor; but being chained, Val-Tivar fell by Machte, the Sword of Nor perverted to his will, and to Rasend, the manticore which Nor had unchained and used against Val-Tivar, and his immortality was transferred to Nor.
Thus Allwur's wrath was greatly kindled, as it had never been before: he opened the heavens upon Nor and cursed him for his perversion of His commands, and cursed the entire humankind with the curse of war.
At that moment the eyes of every human, who had never before thought to harm a human person, were opened to the idea of war, and murder to settle their wants.
In great rage, Nor demanded that Allwur fight with him, but the heavens closed, leaving him alone with the delight of Habeas, Rasend, and even more fury.

When the people of the Earth saw that Nor's wrath was limitless, his power formidable, and his immortality with him, they fell at his feet in fear, all of Karlhelm, and promised to do his will.
Kallistos, who had once been beautiful to him, made his eyes burn with wrath, and to her and her people he marched the many thousands of Karlhelm, doing the most evil deeds seen before by the people: killing, and the innocent, burning, destroying, living vestiments of his rage. Her people, reminders of his former love for her, he determined to utterly massacre from Oceanus.
Kallistos, with the twin children she had by Nor, to the mountain of βουνό fled, and with the last shred of her own blessing, found the snowlark that Nor had defiled.
Now the snowlark is innocent above all creatures, and its harm sealed the evil fate of Nor; knowing the innocence, beauty, and magic of the lark, Kallistos appealed to its spirit and called it to bring upon Nor and his servant Rasend, not death, but sleep, so that when he awoke, the right person would be raised to deliver the people (and her people) from him, for as killing was yet new, Emantur had no defense of its own.
With a mighty cry also she took the vial of Bhanba's blood and diamonds and threw it at the mountain of βουνό, willing it to form protection for the people of Emantur.
From the mountain βουνό sprang the Katara mountain line, which halted the armies of Nor.
The snowlark listened to the plea of Kallistos, and upon Nor descended sleep, and Rasend also, fell into a deep pit somewhere in the Katara mountains, leaving the people of Karlhelm with deep shame and lasting bitterness towards Emantur, but they could not cross the mountains, so they turned back to their homeland and tried to mend the ill that Nor had done by banishing his name, his color, his story, and his existence from their minds. Three fanciful sagas chronicle the works of Nor, all of them banned in Karlhelm, the most infamous of which is the Gernhnod.

But the people of Oceanus remember; and he appears in their tales and legends, though not of his own people. Legends say that the twin children of Kallistos, one light and one darkness, will one day bring about the End of Time.

Laws of Physics - What are the laws of physics like in Earthworld ?

Same as Earth

Magic System - What is the magic system like in Earthworld ?

"Oceanus" has two magic systems. The first one is called the Second Order magic and it is the main one used in Oceanus, or Earthworld, proper. It repsonds to physical constraints, laws, and boundaries of things, like physics, but an integral part of its practice is to be drawn from "openings"--segments of none other than Heartworld, to harvest Heartworld's energy and create forces that do actions in real life. Skilled mages can "open" in air and produce forces, or store force from heartworld in relics.

Technology - What is the level of technology like in Earthworld ?

Steampunk/victorian/medieval; more or less sophistication due to things like Dragonpower and harnessing magic.

Among those that are skilled in Magic, in bending the Fabric of the World, the rarest, and most mysterious, are those which call themselves the Dragon Tamers.
When, in the beginning of the world, Habeas captured that which he called Dragon and dragged them to the Land of Achor, the softhearted goddess Hesta went to Allwur and wept and begged for the goodness and the beauty of the Dragonkind to return to them once more.
Allwur, for He had in His mind the Infinite Plan, spoke kindly to her and consoled her that there would come a race that would redeem some of them to their original goodness. Satisfied, Hesta went again to her abode in the world and waited.
Now the Dragonkind suffered in agony in Achor, and daily were entreated cruelly by Habeas. Wrath and strife ran rampant within themselves and often they would kill each other and terrorize the land of the People of Man; most fearsome and horrid of all the beasts was Rasend, who does not come into this story.
Far to the North in Emantur, two brothers heard of the suffering of the people terrorized by the Dragonkind, and Len and Konstantin [versions disagree on whether these were brothers or friends]. Len and Konstantin were greatly talented in the playing of the kordoni and the aithérios. People from many miles flocked to hear their practices and rumor had it that the two of them playing together could heal the most awful of malady.
It came to pass that a beast—a Stygian horse, which ran rampant in those days—thundered into the town of the brothers and terrified the people, so that none left the places where they abode, and Len alone was brave enough to go outside, Konstantin with him.
The moment the man-eating horse laid eyes on them, he charged; and also at which moment the brothers closed their eyes and began to craft music from their instruments, as if catching the finest tunes of the world and weaving them into the strings and wood of their instruments; and the birds themselves quieted to listen.
The moment that the first note reached the ears of the Stygian horse, it halted, and its own eyes closed, mesmerized, it stilled. The people watching from their windows held their very breath; for as soon as the music of the brothers was over, they had no fear.
The horse, quite docile, was satisfied forever by the playing of their music and all the village hailed the brothers as heroes.
Len, however, was not satisfied: for he knew that still the people of Oceanus were terrified by yet another: the dragons, who ravaged their lands. “Brother,” said he to Konstantin one day, “Let us trek to the fell Land of Achor and compose our melodies for the beasts of rage there. Perhaps Allwur will be merciful to us and allow us to speak to the beasts even there, that they may turn from their evil ways.”
“The Dragonkind?” spake Konstantin, and drew back. “The evil lands of Achor? There is no chance of our survival.”
“Be as that may,” replied Len, “this gift we were given for a reason, and if our deaths so befall us, we may at least have tried to honor Allwur and save the Peoples of this world. Doubt not the powers of Grace—more powerful than our mortal melody.”
Convinced then was Konstantin, and with his brother agreed to sail, much to the dismay of their kin; and after many days of wearisome travel, they saw in the distance a red stain on the horizon: that which they knew was the fell land of Achor. Fear struck the hearts of both, and they were wont to turn back: but Hesta, watching, spoke words of courage into their hearts and spurred them onwards.
Habeas was gone from the land for the time being, but still afraid were the brothers; great bloodshed and horror had happened there.
The brothers neared the dragons: black beasts with great wings and red eyes, yet the blessing of Hesta was with them, and they began to play their music, drowning out the harsh noises of the beasts who drew near.
But as the beasts drew near, a mystical thing happened: Some, entranced, their eyes closed; and others, terrified, flew away in fright. And to the ones who listened, a mysterious thing happened.
The music of the brothers spoke a new life unto them, and their red eyes were opened: their minds became like unto Humans, and their ears comprehended speech. Their mouths became capable of speech, their horrid black raiment fell away, replaced by pure iridescent scales, and above all, the perverted hearts that Habeas had used to form them changed, swayed by the music, became hearts of Argan silver, the most mystical and purest substance: their hearts, valuable, became directed to good, back to the right paths, and transformed their beings into creatures once more of great nobility, justice, compassion, and conscience.
Hesta in her starry abode wept tears of joy, and the brother Len collapsed as in death, for he had spent his soul upon the redeeming of the dragons.
No one had comprehended yet what happened, for so much power swirled around them.
The First of the Dragonkind to speak, who was later called Rigel, said unto Konstantin, “Who do you declare me to be? For changed am I, I know, delivered from a past of horror; I was Dragonkind.” His eyes closed in remembrance of the dread past of his.
“You were, and are no more,” spake Konstantin, “for now you are the Kaladon, and I name you Rigel, the first to speak of your kind. Great nobility and strength are yours, to use to protect the countries of Men.”
And Rigel bowed his head. “Yes, my master. But behold, the Brother of yours who spent his soul to save my kind.”
And beholding, Konstantin realized, and cried out in agony. His scream pierced the heart of every Kaladon, the new heart of Argan silver, and for the first time, the Kaladons felt the pain of another and their eyes were opened to the idea of sacrifice.
From Rigel's noble eye fell the first tear of the Dragonkind; a tear composed of pure selfless love for the man who had given his life for his; and the tear fell upon the soil by Len and Hesta at once begged Allwur for the life of Len.
It all happened swiftly; and sudden the eyes of Len were opened, and he was given life again. Great rejoicing and playing of the kordoni and aithérios followed the brothers to shore, and this time they rode not wearyingly on boat but borne aloft on the wings of the dragons.
For many years the Kaladon served justice and truth and mercy and protected the peoples of Oceanus from their Unreedemed cousins, the ones who had fled in terror, and those are called the Ignans; but the Ignans were defeated or driven away by the Kaladons over the course of many years.
And as they were defeated, so the numbers of the Kaladon dwindled as they left the places of man for Silva, the Place of the Mystic, and thus the descendants of Len and Konstantin, the Dragon Tamers, were forgotten; although today, the finest players of instrumental music may well be traced to the line of the Dragon Tamers, whose music alone can speak to the soul of a dragon.

Creation: When it so pleased Allwur to take upon Himself the task of filling the Void He had created before Him, he made from his thought twelve servants to aid him, servants who became known as the gods to the mortals who were soon to come from the fruit of His mind. Having these servants assembled before Him in His Hall of Glory, He sang the World and Stars into existence, the Stars and Constellations to serve the World which he had created, and He called it Oceanus. He then, in His wisdom, assigned to each of His twelve servants power and the task of filling the Void inside the World for creations which He had in mind to enjoy them. By these servants was created the plants, land, water, air, beauty, metal, numbers, mountains, and many other things; slowly, the World took shape, prodded on by the marvelous creations of the Servants, who would later assume power over them to distribute them to the final creations of Allwur. To the Servant, whose name has been long forgot, of great might was assigned trust over the proceeding of Allwur's creations, but as this servant looked over the plans of Allwur's mind, his heart lusted over them, and late in what had been called Night, he crept to the Hall of Allwur and stole from Allwur the plans. Following him was the only other servant powerful enough to stop him: Vel, the goddess of Prosperity, yet she became afraid when it became known to her the devising of this Servant's mind, and nothing did she say, and as she watched, she allowed the Servant to force her to aid him in the perverting of the plans of Allwur. Then did Allwur arise, and his rage was kindled against his servant, and He banished the Servant and Vel to become one: Habeas, the Wolf of Chaos, the fell enemy of all the creations he would create: But this was not before Habeas had imprinted upon the Creations a Black Mark of mortality, and had stolen away the creations for things which were meant to be beautiful servants of the People, but Habeas had taken and planned to pervert. Allwur allowed Habeas to escape with these things and to do them, but had in His mind decreed that Habeas was not to cause Chaos forever, and would be in the end vanquished, he and all the faithful to him, in the Last Battle, which is far from our present time. And Habeas escaped with his deeds and dwelt in the shadows of the South, where he created his home, the island of Achor, and brought into being the ugly beasts that were called thenceon Dragons. Allwur placed on Oceanus His creations, People, and opened their eyes, although they still had the curse of Habeas, which is Mortality, they were innocent, exploring the lands of Oceanus before Habeas, ever watchful, began to pollute the Earth with His perversions, which would one day, as Allwur knew, cause the People to fall even more.
