Breakage
Sci-fantasy
Sometimes, you need to stray from what’s usual.
The species known as the Dikhog have lived under human supervision for decades at this point, often viewed as primitive beasts and simply used for experimentation. They’re not hunted (except for the occasional Wild Dikhog, because not everyone is living in a ‘sanctuary’), and the humans state “we allow you to exist. Be thankful.” Despite this, the FDN (FREE DIKHOGS NOW) movement has something to say.
In the sanctuary named ‘The Dig’, they're not always free from death. Not all Dikhogs agree with each other, and even humans occasionally pose a threat if the Dikhog strays “too close” or “acts aggressively.”
Although they live in several groups; “troops or colonies”, one reigns supreme, led by Phisura. Although Phisura remains wary of the humans, she’s still more accepting than some of her bolder colony members.
Directly related to her - her progeny, Thuhan, Veiya, Yego and Jape roam the colony, playing as children should, learning as they shall always do.
Change is coming.
