It's the year of 2036 at the beginning of the story.

There have been lots of stories about magic, but nothing has ever been know to these characters until now.

When the main character, Skylar Havens, was born, the world was developing in amazing ways. In 2027, when Skylar was 8, there was a war that lasted 4 years, until 2031. From that point on, the government has drastically changed.

Witches, werewolves, and vampires are all real.

Very little technology anymore. All phones have been destroyed, due to the war of 2027. The government has gotten rid of phones and self-driving cars. Computers are only used in the highest of the government officials. All school work is done on pencil and paper. Knowledge is all in books, not online anymore.
