Luna
The world of Luna is composed of a 6 Kingdoms, all with certain things that separate from the others. Asthesia, often known as the "outlander" Kingdom, is defined by the animalistic features that show up in the features of the inhabitants. Most have abilities refined by the abilities of their animal, as well as the ability to transform into a said animal, but sometimes they go beyond that. The next is Brimstone, which often has weather-related abilities. For example, the category of storm abilities. One could have a snowstorm, rainstorm, thunderstorm, or another storm type related skill. Coarana often has abilities related to a physical body or the manipulation of the living. They may be one of the most powerful types, as they could take control of your limbs whenever they wanted to. Daemonium, often viewed as the Kingdom with the most power, has more control over basic elements. Light, dark, water (sometimes ice), fire (lava as well, depending on the amount of training), air (which could stream into a storm-related ability or more widespread with weather), and earth are the most common. Erithen is often known as the Card Kingdom, with abilities similar to those of a deck of cards. Hearts have more control over emotions and mentality, while Clubs have more physical abilities, like object manipulation. Spades have abilities that are more enhanced, like superspeed or invisibility. Diamonds would have abilities like superstrength or invincibility, and Diamonds and Spades are often categorized as the same. Kryst is a more earthy kingdom. The main powers that people can have there are things like control over crystals, certain elements, or the earth.
However, not everyone has abilities. Those who do are referred to as demjins. Ones who don't comply with the rules set out by their kingdoms are considered volatile and criminal.
Mystery, Adventure, Action, Dystopian
Though the kingdoms do have quite a few disputes along various borders, they're pretty friendly with each other. Most of the conflicts are an outside force that targets all of them. That said, those conflicts are also part of the relative peace between the kingdoms.
Decades ago, 5 of the kingdoms (excluding Asthesia) got into a huge war, trying to figure out who would hold the most power. This war was what made Daemonium the "centre of power".
For a long time, there was a criminal group called the Black Plague that terrorized all of the kingdoms. The group disbanded about 8 years before the beginning of the story after their leader mysteriously died.
The laws of physics, unless manipulated by someone with such an ability, are the same as with our world.
See the Kingdoms mentioned in the Overview section.
Technology is relatively advanced, slightly more so than ours. However, that is mainly because of the abilities that the kingdoms have access to through the demjins. With their abilities, the people are able to do far more than they would've otherwise.
The way the kingdoms of Luna function are largely influenced by the abilities that are common in the area. It also takes influence from immigrants coming from other kingdoms that would like to help out.
Asterian Demjin Laws
1. Don't harm with no reason.
2. Have reason with your abilities.
3. Use your abilities for good, or at the very least, what YOU think is good.
4. If harm comes to someone else because of you within these borders, it becomes your responsibility to deal with it.
The laws are fairly loose, due to pretty much every native citizen being a demjin.
Brimstonian Demjin Laws
1. Help out the workers.
1a. If there's a storm coming and they're on a tight schedule, keep it out of their way.
1b. If farmers need rain to fall on their crops, try to help out if you can.
2. You must be registered
3. If you are a visitor, you must be sure to notify someone who works with the government or police of your status as a demjin.
4. You will be treated as if a normal citizen unless you violate ANY Brimstonian laws, regardless of where you're from.
5. You don't get special treatment unless you EARN it.
6. That said, you won't be judged harshly for being a demjin, rather for your choices and other such things.
Brimstone is accepting of demjins and treats them as they would any other citizen. They abide by the same laws, though they do have a few more responsibilities due to their abilities.
Coaranian Demjin Laws
1. Help your fellow citizens
2. You do not need to be registered, but to sign up for a job, it is suggested that you make the potential employer aware of this fact and say what your ability is.
3. If you commit a crime you must be aware of the consequences of doing so. You will be tranquillized, taken into captivity, and will have no human interaction for the duration of your sentence.
4. Although it is not required, it is suggested that you take a job as a doctor, nurse, or police officer to make use of your abilities to help your kingdom.
Coarana takes a more harsh, strict approach, but they still go pretty easy on the demjins, treating them as if they were a relatively normal citizen.
Daemonian Demjin Laws
1. You must be registered.
2. When you've finished your education, you must work, at least indirectly, with the Daemonium Peritissimus.
3. If you do not join the Peritissimus when you are of age, you will be classified as a criminal. If you are not registered and are discovered to be a demjin, you will be immediately registered.
3a. If you are underage and unregistered, whoever is responsible for not registering you will have to serve time in prison for 3 months.
3b. If you are of age, the previous will still apply (if they're alive). Additionally, you will also have to serve time in prison OR, if you are not taken into custody, you will be classified as a criminal.
4. If you are a visitor, you are not required to join, but you will have another set of laws.
4a. You will have to make someone aware of your status.
4b. You will have a thorough background check done on you.
4c. You will have to notify someone when you are leaving the kingdom, and when you're heading to another city.
5. Regardless of whether you are a visitor or a resident, you will abide by the laws set out to normal citizens as well.
Daemonium is by far the strictest kingdom with demjins, even though the royal family of the kingdom is demjins, due to an assassination attempt a few decades ago. The attempt was run by other demjins, from various kingdoms, and they nearly succeeded, along with infiltrating the palace. The king almost died, then set out the rules. They do not, of course, apply to the royal family.
Erithenian Demjin Laws
The Erithenians only have one law for the demjins. "You are no different from other residents. Don't expect to be treated as if you are."
Krystian Demjin Laws
1. You are to be registered.
2. You will not be treated much differently from normal humans.
3. Classes are to be split into Demjin groups and Non-demjin groups.
4. Penalties for crimes are higher, depending on what you did.
Kryst has a slight segregation law between demjins and normal people, but they don't hold many prejudices. They do treat them as slightly lower and don't give them as many rights, however, but it's not as if they force demjins into slavery.
