Earth-535
a world with dragons, people and "half-borns"
fantasy
Dragon Guardian History: Dragon Guardians are born as ordinary humans. They don’t discover their powers until later in life. Dragon Guardians can turn themselves into dragons at will. They act as ambassadors between humans and dragons. They must learn how to speak dragon by finding an elder Dragon Guardian. However, they must learn to fight as dragons from other dragons or on their own. Their mission is to try to convince Dark Dragons to turn from their ways and humans who have a hatred of dragons to discover a love for them.
Dragon History: Dragons have roamed the planet before humans ever appeared. They’re intelligent and masters of the skies. Dragons love a good riddle and greatly respect any human who tells them one they can’t solve. Like humans, there are different classes: warriors, healers, scientists, explorers, and hunters. The lead dragon of a group is often a warrior. Dragon groups, or families, can range from three to twenty members. Most are content about sharing the world with people. Some however want dragon-kind to rule. They’re called the Dark Dragons.

Only Dragon Guardians really have power. They can turn into dragons.
Legend of the Dragon Guardians
There was a time long ago when dragons and humans lived in harmony. They left each other alone for the most part but when they did cross paths, they would exchange friendly nods. However, over time one dragon started to think differently. He became fed up with sharing the world. He grew hungry for power and control over the earth. Many dragons followed him but there were some who disagreed. The Arch-dragon of that time called an emergency meeting.
“If we don’t do something now, humans will see us as monsters!” one dragon warned. “They have too many forces. War with humans in inevitable,” the Arch-dragon replied. “Then what do you suggest we do? Kill all the humans?” another dragon asked. The Arch-dragon fell silent as he thought. “I will use the last of my powers to select a few humans who show potential to fight for themselves and dragons. They will be granted with the ability to turn themselves into one of us and their powers will be passed down through generations. They will learn our ways in order to educate their people about us,” the Arch-dragon explained. “What if one betrays us?” a smaller dragon asked. “We will deal with it when it happens,” was the Arch-dragon’s reply.
The First Five to receive this gift were Conrow the Scientist, Abazail the Silent, Mattias the Hunter, Thomas the Warrior, and Rakor the Explorer. As people started developing a hatred towards dragons, the First Five began their work. They studied the dragon language and their lifestyles all while trying to keep their villages and others without a Dragon Guardian from hating them. Unfortunately, the Dark Dragons kept increasing their attacks, overwhelming the Guardians. Luckily, there were some who did all they could to help. They learned everything they could and sought to educate their neighbors. From this, the Dragon Guardians prevailed and are still around.
