p until the 2000s, there weren’t many people who used their powers for things bad, like organised crime or mass murder. but over the years more people started to use their powers to kill huge groups of people, usually politicians or authority figures. By 2100, hundreds of people were being murdered at a time. The third world war started in 2178, when one world leader ordered its power-possessed troops to attack and assassinate another world leader. This lead to a ten-year world war, the powerless humans versus the powerful ones. the population of the world was 11 billion when the war started, around 3 billion of them having powers and the rest, not. The powerless side ended up coming out victorious, but not before the powerful humans had made some major damage. The most catastrophic event; a group of around a thousand earth-powered humans used their powers to together rip a chunk of Africa from the country. from Ethiopia down, it was ripped off, and flung into the sea. over half of Africa’s population was killed, either from drowning, or just from the momentum from being flung off the land.

The war ended around 3 months after that event. All world leaders came to an agreement that all humans that possessed powers had to be exiled, and they used the newly formed country to exile them to.
If you had powers, you were arrested, and taken to the new country, named Antonina.
After the war, the population dropped immensely. it went from 11 billion to 5 billion. Of this, only around 300 million of them had powers, and almost all of them now lived in Antonina. in other countries, it was taboo to mention the previous war, or mention the fact that people had owned these powers.
