Based somewhat on different forms of mythology- there's a rift between the world of the dead and the living and people struggling to control that rift- people (mediums) in between that rift that can communicate with the dead and there are people set out to control that rift and mediums along side it- the technology is mostly modern with some advanced elements.While there are regular people, there are people caught in between dead and living, often finding themselves, allowing them to contact and visit the dead, who live in an infinite world,where the person themselves is trapped in the place of their worst/best/neutral memory/memories based on how good or bad the person was while living in their respective dimension.Mostly regular, but somewhat advanced considering efforts are made to control mediums, and as a result, the technology is mostly used to organize them into groups based on stability and forcing them away from their companions.
