The candidate passes a test set by their Guardian, then vows to forever uphold the freedom of humanity and to protect it alongside their Guardian with their life. The candidate also vows to never misuse their power to harm others nor let greed or hubris overtake them.
Once the vows are complete, the Guardian imprints a black stylized tattoo of themselves on the Champion's non-dominant shoulder as a symbol of them having won the Guardian's loyalty. The Guardian then presents their candidate with their Legatus and talisman if it is available, before finally declaring them a Champion.
