Strykere Village
The village isn't really a village. 10k people is a lot. It isn't really a village and the term might have become ironic. Something to be said for having the word Village in the name, but the population is more like a large town or a small city.
Tourism still isn't really a thing. Education is through apprenticeships. At this size, would it have become necessary for a local government to impose rules on who can be a blacksmith (for instance). I'm thinking not. I think it would make more sense to have Strykere Village be the center of the island population with smaller townships or hamlets spread around the island to better support farming and fishing. That spread can help keep each area relatively small to encourage that small-town feeling that I'm trying to engender.
I'm thinking maybe 7 or 8 total settlements around the island. 10000 / 8 = 1250, which is pretty reasonable. Most of that population should be in Strykere Village, so lets carve off 3000 there. It's sizeable, but not unmanageable. Most of the general trade would be done there. That leaves 7000 / 7 = 1000 each, give or take. That kind of population would probably be needed to manage the individual farms since much of it is manual labor.
I'd like Strykere to be something of an oasis in the Myr. That means pretty good fishing in the internal waters. This wouldn't be a normal geography, so it being weird should be commented upon. The deposit of crystals will of course be responsible for this arrangement.
