Taylor Leaves for River Valley

Taylor and his cousin Jules head to River Valley University and get him settled into his space.

This is Chapter 1 of the book

Taylor Watches "The Arrival" Video

During his last visit to campus before he becomes an official college student, Taylor's student-host David shows him the video of The Arrival. He makes Taylor a copy and teaches him how to keep things off of the grid, something that will be useful for Taylor later on.

This scene is the prologue of the book.
David's knowledge will one day help Taylor know how to keep all of his evidence off of the web until it's time.

Taylor Chooses River Valley

One year later, Taylor hears about the return of the Arrival, and knowing he only has a year left until he joins, he decides to begin his investigation at River Valley University. He visits three times before he goes.

Jules brings him to every open campus, Taylor's mother refuses to.

Taylor Hears of the Arrival

Two years after his sister's disappearance, Taylor hears the story of 5 college students from River Valley who mysteriously disappear off of their campus. He follows the story closely, despite his mother's protests.

Jules helps Taylor keep investigating behind the scenes, cementing their friendship.

Jaquelyn Disappears

Four weeks after going to college, Jackie and 4 other friends disappear off of the campus. Taylor's mother refuses to speak about it, and leaves him with a neighbor for two weeks while she 'mourns'

Taylor's mother's 'mourning' is her going and begging the Agency for her daughter back. She gets demoted and sent back home with no hope. She does try very hard, however.

Jaquelyn Goes to College

Jackie goes to college across the US in Texas, much to her mother's delight. She tells Taylor to never lose his curiosity and encourages him to become a journalist major and not live for their mother.

Jaquelyn's words help fuel Taylor to disobey his mother.

Taylor Visits his Grandfather

Taylor visits his grandfather with his cousin, Jules, and his aunt, while they're babysitting him for a week. His grandpa tells him the story of the Angel. After Taylor returns him and tells his mother, she cuts off all ties with her sister and tells Taylor he can never talk to his grandpa again.

When Jules mother dies, Taylor's mother allows Jules back into the family.

Taylor's Mother Makes a Deal

Taylor's Mom, who also works for the agency, convinces them to allow the kids to grow up without being tested because they don't know which one was injected by the Inhibitor. They agree, but say that any sign of Augmentation will result in them being taken away.

This is why Taylor's mother doesn't want Taylor to interact with his grandfather (the one with a strong Augmentation DNA strand) or go onto the campus where the Angel once lived.

Taylor's Father Returns

Taylor's father, after discovering The Angel, escapes the complex with 2 Inhibitor syringes. Followed closely by The Agency, he arrives with minutes to spare. He enters Taylor's room the fastest and injects his son with the Inhibitor solution. He realizes he won't have enough time to make it to his daughter Jaquelyns' room, so he makes a break for it, and is killed on the front lawn.

This is the first time someone with the Augmentation DNA strand has ever been injected by an Inhibitor.
