Chromatex

Short for "chromatic textiles." A type of clothing that incorporates flexible "nanoscreens" to change color or display different patterns on command. The patterns displayed are typically controlled with a phone app and set on different automatic rotations, though some more advanced types can change according to the wearer's mood, surrounding temperature, or other traits.

Power is typically supplied through microscopic solar arrays, with batteries that can last for days on a full charge. Most chromatex clothes are machine washable and dryable on gentle cycles.

While "Chromatex" is technically a brand name, it has since become genericized to refer to any clothes that use nanoscreens to change color.
