Maglev Train
Short for "magnetic levitation." These advanced trains use powerful electromagnets to both connect to a track and propel the cars forward. They don't directly touch the track, allowing them to travel at hundreds of miles per hour thanks to the lack of friction.
Maglev trains exist on Earth as well, but advances in speed, cost, comfort, and safety have led to them becoming far more common throughout Serus. In recent years, they have even started to seriously rival air travel for short and medium distance trips as the infrastructure becomes widespread.
