To allow fast transport from one place to another

They rely on magic-infused crystals. Each teleport has its own signature crystal which can be inserted into a teleport to connect it to any teleport with the same crystal.

• Commercial centers like the Capitol have larger and more complex portals to connect to either popular spots in the city or to other major towns and cities.


• Provincial areas like Kandar have smaller and simpler portals connecting to major towns


• Private portals can be the simplest if they only connect a small area like rooms in a mansion, or more complex if they also connect to other cities and such.

The more crystals and places they're connected to, the bigger and more complex the design

• The empire can track users of teleports


• There are maps made specifically for teleport lines


• There are ways to circumvent gov surveillance when you use teleports, but they require special tech or clever cloaking spells
