Chievia
Chievias look fairly “normal” to an outsider’s eyes. (that's you).
A race of mortals that have no magic, but a strange immunity to it. Not a full immunity, but still a much stronger one.
As you will learn, Chievias are masters of the night. With their natural tones of color in skin and hair, they blend into the world around them. In modern times, most races don't even realize they exist, or they only exist in legend. Chievias keep to themselves, mostly. It cannot be said they are a peaceful folk, but it also cannot be said they are a rowdy folk. They seem to only appear in times of desperate need. They do not acknowledge any race (even Ociramma) as foe, nor do they see any as friends. It is not that they are untrusting, rather, simply, they do not care. And while they are smart, they are sheltered.
Many stories, especially that of rare races and legends, are not normally seen as truth or in the least bit believable. They are exceptionally skilled but naive to the world around them. Perhaps they like it that way. Any Chievian who actively seeks out knowledge from the wide world around them is seen as queer and out of place. They will not treat outcasts any less (on purpose), they are a good folk afterall, but the odd Chievian is subconsciously neglected.
Chievian
Their skin tones are usually a variety of greens, browns, blues… (Wait, you seem confused, outsider? I suppose it is because I said they look “average” to you. Well, I haven't the foggiest clue what “you” look like.) The tones and colors of mortals in Kliphor are of many colors. All colors one could imagine.
They Average around the height of 4 feet to 5
90-120lbs
Though they are a little short. and are infamous for their big pale green - green eyes.
They can have a variety of hair colors, brown, green, gray, but not red! (They are not like Dwarfs at all.)
The varience is a bit more varried than humans. With more facial and physical structure varience, even though theyre very monochromatic, there are a lot of greens and close to green colors they can varry with.
They wear tighter clothing that is more silk-like to expell the mud and dirt theyre reguardly in. Most notably, most Chievia wear very high platforms boots up to an entire foot taller. As they are constantly walking through deep, muddy, and dangerous waters, these platforms keep the majority of their bodies above the water to walk around freely (in most areas.) Not all Chievia will wear high platforms, and the more experienced a fighter, they will often have shorter boots. Since they wont need to walk through the water as much as tree hop, or find alternative means.
A witchcraft poison that would normally kill even an elf in a matter of days, would take weeks or even months to kill an old Chievian. Most would recover, especially if in their prime. Magic fires do not burn nearly as much, ice takes much longer to freeze on the Chievias, and curses are much harder to force. It would take a great wizard of pure ill intent to place a powerful enough curse on a Chievian to curse their everyday lives. Even Chesture artifacts take much much longer to corrupt their minds.
The Chievian race is all too talented in masking their presence if they choose.
No magic, closested, overall lazy, not prone to seek knowledge, equally (un)trusting of all outsiders
Chievias record history accurately and for extremely long times via family books. These books last many, many, many, generations. The oldest pages are often dust. Despite their records, they dont often renew old texts.
They believe in solitude from other races. They believe they are better without external affairs.
There isnt a specific government body outside of militia trainers and messengers. The messengers are generally seen as the "mayors" of each town. They exist soley to relay important information between towns. They are the only ones authorized to request and sent militia stationaries to other towns other than the trainers. Training takes place in Rre and all warriors are trained there.
None outside of farming technologies. They use wood and rye for clothes. There is little to no metal. Any metal they do utilize came from imports.
Farmers, warriors of different class, trainers, messengers, prostitutes
They deal in goods, mainly stone and wheat.
Baked flour
The recruitment of warriors is based off mothers. When a person misbehaves, the mother can opt to send the child/person into the training malitia.
7300 DTE Chievias who once roamed the lands are suddenly “hidden” though not lost or “disappeared”.
