Grimalkin

While many animals can carry sentience, grimalkin refers specifically to those of a feline nature. Whether they be the results of experiments, use of certain spells, exposure to sources of magic, or whatever else made them, grimalkin aren't inherently magic themselves but often are. If they don't use methods of communication they can easily pass for regular cats, and in fact many prefer it as such since it gives them the element of surprise when they need to attack as people underestimate what they're capable of.
