Time Magic

A type of Elemental Energy sometimes called the element of change. Falls under Old Magic. Glows bright orange when pure. Time energy permeates the universe, and is nearly undetectable. Its corresponding Soul Core is small and weak, leading to spells of Energy Manipulation, rather than Energy Creation, being the most commonplace.

Time energy is always moving. Anything it moves over is aged ever so slightly, experiencing the flow of time on a conceptual level. Manipulative spells involve changing the speed of the energy's motion in a finite area, causing that area to experience more or less time relative to its surroundings.

Time Travel

Travel into the future is difficult, but not inconceivable. One must slow the time around themselves as much as possible, such that moments for the caster become years to the outside world. Reversing the effects, however, is not so straightforward.

While some theorize that it is possible to warp the field of Time energy to such an extent that the flow of time reverses entirely, the amount and concentration of energy required in such a spell would be astronomical. A mage could spend their entire life gathering energy and not come close. Only one being has ever accomplished this feat, and only by accident after gathering energy for centuries, in an event known as the Aida Spacetime Incident.
