Necromancy

In the most basic of terms necromancy is magic that deals with resurrecting the dead. Realistically this covers a wide variety of magical practices, from the simple art of returning the soul of a deceased creature to its body so that the creature can continue its natural life to animating bodies with magic controlled by the caster to even the enslavement of various kinds of spirits; either leaving them in their spiritual form or binding those souls to a body.

While this type of magic is most often associated with evil, most notably the aforementioned act of enslaving spirits, no where in Draconia is necromancy outlawed and a few big cities even use it to their advantage; bodies reanimated to serve as guards or in similar capacity and then respectfully put to rest when their remains are no longer viable for their jobs.

Some groups have dedicated themselves to hunting down and stopping those who practice the more unethical aspects of necromancy, but they know that the truth is without laws in place to make the practice they are little but a stop-gap.
